I defend the right of those people to make a film as much as I defend your right to say Christians would be glad to go back to the "good old days" of burning people who didn't beleive like them at the stake. I defend my right of reply too.

As an atheist, I understand that life is important and should not be taken for offense at a crappy film. It wasn't though and there are obviously other factors involved in the orchestrated campaign of violence against the west, rather than at the Egyptian Christians you say made it. I also understand that free-speech underpins democracy and freedom of thought.

The video triggered the violence, which seeemed like it was pre-planned for 9-11 anniversary anyway. Any other video, speech, text or cartoon could have equally done this. For example, this video is fairly critical of Islam. It could have been the "one" and provided a focus on the UK embassy.

Looks like the film was funded by Israel, the actors had no clue what it was about and told it was about Egypt 2000 years ago and then dubbed over. This film was intentionally made to provoke a people that take their faith serious for no other reason than to rile people up against them so they won't feel sorry for little Salma (who by the way will never get aired on TV) when she gets her legs blown off when the bombs hit.
