You can't have what without the other? Are you speaking about good and evil. That's going to be around whether or not religion or Atheism is. If religion or Atheism were to disappear, then guess what? Good and evil would still exist. You know why? Because people make choices (both good and bad) and as long as we exist and are not perfect, there will always be good and bad choices. So I guess you just want the whole human race gone?

And the example you provided is the exact reason why I dislike religion: people feel there needs to be an afterlife, with consequences, in order to live a good life on earth. Its a control system. The fact that religious people place more faith in a higher power than they do in themselves is smply mind boggling to me.

As for myself, I have faith in my fellow man; we can be, and generally are, good people simply because its in our nature.

No it's because of the social status of many immigrants who enter the country. Many immigrants are there illegally and commit crime to make a living for themselves as most employers won't hire them or pay them next to nothing, it's not only mexican immigrants but immigrants from countries such as my own. Then of course there's the crime committed by US citizens.

I was talking about good and bad religion. Though I agree, good and evil will always exist. No oneargued to the contrary.

Which is why getting rid of religion/atheism makes no sense to me. I don't like many of the choices some religious leaders make either, but wanting religion gone because of the choices of these people seems misguided to me.

Dude, THe site's based on "Humanism" which believes that man is at the center, giving humans primary importance. Twenty-first century Humanism tends to strongly endorse human rights, including reproductive rights, gender equality, social justice, and the separation of church and state. I would say that site's biased.
