To all users who think they have a "good" taste in music.

I've never told anyone that their musical taste is trash nor did I ever commented on someone's username and used it to insult them...... .....(elipsis)..... .....(moar elipsis)..... ...... ....... -_-

Besides I myself know so few bands/artists.

As for the poll options I cant go with any one option entirely. I guess I'd pick some from option 1 and some from option 2.

Anyway, I would say number 1, but that's only because I don't listen to that genre as much and could live without it. There are some good musicians in all of the other four categories.

I don't like music that I can't understand though, which includes a lot of nonsensical screaming. For the music I don't like, I generally don't tell people I don't like it, or if I do, I'm not rude about it.

I don't have any right to tell people what they shouldn't listen to.

If they like this artist or that artist, it really is none of my business...

Isn't it obvious? The forth choice is the correct one. Although the second one is pretty bad as well.

Regardless, it's clear to see the artists here that are better than the others. >_>

My point here is that I see a lot of people belittle my taste in bands as "trash", "garbage", "wreckage", or many other various insulting names, and I'm quite frankly sick of it. If you think metalcore is trash, that's completely fine, but when you say that to me when I wasn't even trying to talk to you or even say anything remotely inciteful, that's flat out immature and rude. Also, there are far worser bands, like the poll shows, and at least the bands I listen to have far more intelligent lyrics than merely repeating "birthday sex" numerous times.

I'm predicting many of you will say I should have blogged this, but blogs can't have polls, now can they?

Yeah, I used to be a real music elitist. I would openly mock kids in Slipknot shirts and would argue that Weezer didn't even actually count as music.

But I learned something: people really don't like music. They like it because they are supposed to, or they like to dance, or because their boyfriend/girlfrind likes it. So I quit worrying about it.

1. All are utter crap, except for maybe NeverShoutNever. He actually has a tiny ounce of talent, even though his lyrics are stump dumb.

2. Ok, now all of them really ARE utter crap.

3. But I like Evanescence, Disturbed, and Breaking Benjamin... :(

4. Blink is pretty good, Sum 41's older stuff is just awesome, Paramore's ok, but Simple Plan is among the crappiest crap to ever crap up the crappy airwaves (did I get the message across?). Oh, and speaking of Airwaves, I've never heard any of A&A's stuff.

5. Most metalcore blows. I'm sorry, but none of the bands you've posted interest me AT ALL. I do like some of Bullet For My Valentine's stuff, although that's more Metal than Core.

Well knowing full well that I have excellent taste in music I would never suggest that somebody not listen to a certain band. Just because a band might not be the most talented bunch out there or perhaps they just play relatively mediocre compositions doesn't mean that they can't necessarily provide good solid entertainment for a person of discriminating taste. There's music for all kinds of moods out there and a lot of people don't always want to listen to the same thing. Sometimes it's just fun to groove and sing along to a Fergie song and other times it's fun to listen to somebody tackle Ernst's transcription of Schubert's Der Erlkoenig. I would suggest to the TC that you just ignore people that attack your music and just enjoy it. You don't need to justify it to anybody as long as it makes you happy or fulfills you in any way.

That was only for your second choice in the poll, in which all of them were terrible. I like some metalcore, though I like it to be more on the metal side.

Hmmm...it's between 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Out of all of those, the only one that I like at all is Avenged Sevenfold.

Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, Naked Brothers Band, NeversShoutNever-HM and JB i beleive all have experinced musicans working with them that are all know how to make catchy pop and rock songs ...stuff i usally dont care for because it all sounds basic and the same this is the worst IMO

Souljah Boy, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, - Soulja boy early on because is stuff was Catchy bare bones Crunk style music heavy Bass !!!! which i like LIl wayne early on i thought was a very talented artist and u can tell hes been growing musicaly like a tree lately same with KW and Lady gaga are heavy electronic based

Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Evanesence -u dont headline Rock am ring with out being something special Slipknot are a very unique band IMO 3 Drummers come on thats a Ficous sound live Disturbed must be doing something right i cant speak pon the others

blink 182, Sum 41, Paramore, Simple Plan, Angels & Airwaves, -All pop punk stuff IMO stuff i hate Give me Rancid The unseen old school stuff anyday this is second to worse IMO

August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, A Day to Remember,- dont know any of these bands i know there Metalcor New hardcore whatever u wanna call it either way they play fast and loud breakdowns all that stuff some of the stuff is ok but like all the other types of music u have to digg past the Mainstream stuf to find the good stuff

So all in all SLipknot is the Best this a band the Metallica gave HUge props to and kinda passed the torch to them

Slipknot have the ability to Go anywhere from here the are artsy unique and at the same time Dark Heavy and cerbral
