my list would be
1-9. Gone With The Wind (that movie is ****)
10. Titanic, Kate Winslet's boobs cant save a movie
[QUOTE="DejaVu72"]Anchorman is one of those movies that's actually funnier the second or third time, rather than the first. It's weird, but true. I have had about 3 people tell me the exact same thing.tomxizor
Make that four; I had that same impression. 8)
I was the same way. With that, and Napolean Dynamite. (Sue me. :P)
Pirates is the only one that belongs on that list.....
You forgot Scarface and Pulp Fiction....
LostProphetFLCL
How the heck are Scarface and Pulp Fiction overrated? Those movies are great. In fact, those are my two favorite movies. They are in no way overrated.

I can understand Scarface, but Pulp Fiction? The anger sharks are swimming in my head...Going to go medieval on poster's ass with pair of pliers and blowtorch.
I agree with the first three...
But where's The Matrix Trilogy!?
ciredude
The last two may have been bad, but the first one was in no way overrated, by my standards anyways.
crash, million dollar baby, magnolia, memento, scarface, donnie darko, the shawshank redemption, etc.maximusmmii
You hate good movies! :o
:P
My list:
Napeleon Dynamite
Titanic
American Beauty
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Star Wars
Jaws
Thats all I can think of...

Pulp fiction: Oh wow, lets see how many "clever" (I use that term lightly) lines we can throw out in one movie. OMG did he just stick a needle in that chicks heart? WOW I DON'T CARE THIS IS BORING!!!
Scarface: Wow, so Tony Montana thinks he is a badass. Too bad the plot is boring and the whole movie is leaning on Al Pacinos shoulders. Once that I ended I found myself saying "WTF and this is called GOOD?"

The plot of Scarface is not boring. Also, there is more in Pulp Fiction than just "clever" lines. The way all of the stories intertwine with one another is brilliant.

Pulp Fiction, to me, wasn't about "clever lines"...it was about character development, and yeah, they developed a great deal throughout the movie. I thought the character study was fascinating, and I'd never seen a movie that had such casual conversation between people before. At the time, the conversations didn't seem like much, but they really had a part to play in the plot. I love it. :)
EDIT: And I've never seen Scarface...it never really interested me. :P
crashmaximusmmiiCrash is overrated, it would have made the list if it was a top 15 or top 20.
Where's 300monkey27272I had no interest in seeing that dumb movie. And even though I'm 100% the movie would be terrible, I take pride in my writing and I wouldn't list the movie there if I haven't actually watched it.
The writing style is also very poor, akin to that of a freshman in high school, maybe even the equivalent of a 7th or 8th grader.Greatgone12Maybe the ones my friends wrote, but the movies I did were very good. Like I said before the ones I did were Anchorman, Napoleon Dynamite, Fight Club, Twister and Pirates Of The Caribbean. You can clearly see a rise in quality with the ones I did over the other ones.

Soon enough, two posters are going to spend the rest of their short-ass posting-lives in agonizing pain.
Two? I know someone said they didn't like Star Wars...don't recall see anyone else harping on American Beauty.
"Goddammit, how long are they going to do absolutely nothing" - Me upon seeing Star Wars Episode 1-3
"That was okay...just okay. Not the greatest series ever like people say. They should re do it with Chewy playing every character" - Me upon seeing Episodes 4-6
"What The **** was that" - Me upon watching American Beauty.

I didn't give a damn about a single character in Pulp Fiction, so any character development was made moot by the fact that they never interested me at all.
Oh, and don't see Scarface. It is a waste of time. There is nothing remotely good about that movie besides Al Pacino's acting and MAYBE the chainsaw scene. Other than that, it is nothing but drugs and Al Pacino being INCREDIBLY cocky, with some violence thrown in. Definitely nothing worthy of the praise it gets.
Oh and BTW TC, I should pimpsmack you for putting Jurassic Park on your list. The first movie is easily one of my all-time favs. It is a movie I can go back and watch and still enjoy. Better yet I get more out of it NOW seeing as I am old enough now to get all the theoretical and philisophical content of the movie.

Various misspellings and grammatical errors, not to mention a complete lack of understanding of most of the movies you have listed.

I guess there enlies the problem. :P I usually begin a movie caring about characters, and because I found the characters relatable (not that I'm a hitman or anything...>_>) also helped. That's just me, though. :)

Thats the thing, I need at least some reason to care about the characters. I didn't relate to single person in the movie, and they sure as hell weren't likeable people. You can't lack both of those qualities entirely and expect me to care about the characters....
