The attack was committed by a 31-year-old Tunisian immigrant with Islamic background.

Sick world we live in. This made me search which cities or countries has the highest death rate and South Africa pops up as number one. Almost all of the top 20 are third world countries. Stuff like this or even worse probably happen at these places on a daily rate but will hardly make news. This is the sad reality of this world, people kill people and death is death.

Yet another ISIS terror attack in the last two months:

Orlando, Istanbul, Dhaka, Baghdad, Saudi Arabia, Nice.

Rest in peace, to all the victims involved in these attacks.

As for ISIS, they're getting desperate because of how much ground they've lost. It's only a matter of time before ISIS ceases to exist as a rogue state. Rest in pieces, ISIS.

Think of all the lives they could have saved had they only banned trucks. Haven't we learned that banning things solves everything?

1. Islamic. :p

2. From killer's POV, it's has "religious" undertones.

3. There shouldn't be any special treatments.

Continued left wing and political correctness leads to the rise of Le-Pen.

Are you really trying to claim that this is not based on religion?

Also did you just blame the french for this? you know it´s a free world right? so if anyone is unhappy where they are, they can pull up stakes and move to where their views are better met.

This is just fucking bullshit. Its too bad they shot the driver dead, he deserves to be made to suffer for each and every death he intentionally caused.

Not doing things like that is what makes Western Civilization far superior to Islamic Civilization. We put a bullet in the head of a bastard like that, and call it a day, not cream over torture fetishes. Let these psychos do it, we'll be consoled with the fact that we live in the 21st century, while their retrograde society is the shame of the human species at this moment. .

Lets make some female infantry battalions and watch ISIS run like the bitches they are.

Nice try again with the deflection.

But Mr.NRA i am sorry that you feel threaten by the gun debate in the US and are upset like a 4year old who may have his toy taken away from him.

But could we leave that debate for those threads and not try to be funny and murky this thread?

It's interesting all these crazy terrorists just so happen to identify with ISIS. And happen to be immigrants or descendants of immigrants. It's as if ISIS has figured out a way to provocate and induce mass mental illness around the world. Or you think it's just some massive world-wide coincidence?

Only if there was a trend we could pick up on and use the information to help protect against these attacks in the future...

I wonder if the Bible preached killing gays and non-believers - if crazy people would completely ignore that and still end up being Islam fundamentalists? I wonder if Westboro would've just started murdering people in the name of the Bible?

If guns aren't going to be banned, make tanks road worthy. I'd be safe from guns AND trucks.

From http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3691560/Nice-truck-killer-KNOWN-police-French-Tunisian-mowed-84-Bastille-Day-ARRESTED-France-pub-brawl-January.html

Why should the French treat a known criminal better than law abiding French citizen?

He was already known to police before the attack for allegations of domestic abuse, theft and 'use of weapons', and had been arrested following a pub brawl on January 27.

His last appearance in a criminal court was as recently as March, when he was found guilty of violent contact.

...

He had also recently been put under probation after he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into four vehicles on a highway, it is claimed in Spanish newspaper El Mundo.

This terrorist made a mess in Spain.

Sarcasm.

Whether society will acknowledge it or not, many of the followers of this religion are a disease on the modern world. The politically correct leader here in the United States better get off his ass, shelf his pride and address this problem quickly and with a blitzkrieg or else it will get worse here. Europe is already dealing with it and really, any nation taking in people of this faith run some sort of risk IMO.

Ground they've lost? Who gives a shit about Syria and Iraq when they're being invited to live in America and Europe? Seriously, who's left to win battles in the middle east when they're being welcomed with open arms in western countries? Ever notice that these so-called "refugees" are almost entirely young, fighting-age men? Invading army is more like it. But these politicians don't care. To hell with long-term consequences when there's short-term power and money to be gained.

So it seems France is the terrorists' haven for their operations. How many more of these attacks need to happen before Hollande and his likes are kicked out? I tried not blaming France's government but appearing before the camera every single time with the same speech is getting really really ineffective. I mean, how weak is France's intelligence agency (whatever it's called)?

Economic hardship, a highly aggressive foreign policy, illegal gun trade, and Islamic terrorism aren't a good combination. My thoughts go the victims, their loved ones, and the people of France.

@ronvalencia:

I think he's being sarcastic. Also, having a criminal record, even a violent one, doesn't make you a terrorist.

I'm not exactly fervent on banning guns and I hope you're being sarcastic but your comment is illogical. The point of driving a truck is to carry a heavier load and transport to another location. If anything, deaths involving trucks would be mostly accidental, save for the Nice Attacks. Whereas the point of the gun is to kill. Granted you have accidents but you'll have more intentional and self-inflicted shootings.

No, it establish anti-civil mind set and when combined with extremist Islamic undertones, it's a ticking time bomb.

For dual citizens and non-citizens, Australia has laws to kick law breaking immigrants out.

While the story is developing, he didn't have any extreme Islamic undertones before the attack. Here's a quote from the article: "However the man had never been associated with any acts of terrorism before the Bastille Day slaughter, and he was not under surveillance."

Also, Australia's laws regarding ceasing citizenship have to do more with joining a terrorist organization, aiding a terrorist organization, and showing anti-Australian sentiments (third one is concerning, especially in a democracy). Committing a crime in Australia isn't going to get you kicked out unless you do what I mentioned previously.

Any actual evidence to suggest that the majority of refugees are the ones causing these terrorist attacks and are an invading army? Also while Europe does have a major refugee crisis, the U.S. has only accepted somewhere around 2000 refugees... out of the millions trying to get out of wartorn Syria. And if you're familiar with the refugee process, it's incredibly difficult and expensive to become a refugee and go to any other country. If they were being invited, they wouldn't be drowning in the Mediterranean Sea by the hundreds.

Also, while I'm at it, the attacker was born in France and of Tunisian decent. He wasn't a refugee and I'm making the assumption that his parents weren't refugees either.

Apparently the guy was either really lucky or had bulletproof glass, as the law enforcement agents riddled the windshield with bullets but didn't kill the guy before he turned his truck into a bowling ball.

Also, it is speculated that the guy found a weakness in the police's blockade, as he was able to "sneak" into an area that was off-limits to civil vehicles relatively undisturbed until it was too late.

I guess the silver lining in all of this is that he didn't pack his truck with explosives. Had he managed to sneak bombs into the truck and set them off before being shot, the death toll could've easily reached the several hundreds.

Well, he probably wasn't an especially devout Muslim if his background included pub brawling.

And the notion that ISIS is composed of pious warriors is a bit difficult to reconcile with the discovery that pornographic images and videos constitute up to 80% of the data found on laptops captured from ISIS ...

The Washington Times: ISIS computers packed with porn

“Some of it was really bad, and it was all over the map. Some of it was kids, animals,” a former analyst said.

There are plenty of motives for committing terrorist attacks that have little or nothing to do with religion. France has a very storied history when it comes to military interventions and "regime change" interventions in North Africa, and the purpose of those interventions has generally been to maintain a measure of economic and political control over former French colonies in Africa.

It's perhaps especially noteworthy that France (then under Nicolas Sarkozy) played a leading role in the overthrow of Libya's Muammar Gaddafi---an event that contributed significantly to both the growth of ISIS and the migrant crisis that has flooded Europe (including France) with people who have good reason to blame Europe (including France) for the ruin of their countries of origin.

One problem, the practice of polygamy (which is allowable in Islam) vs porn...

death count at 84.

Also, hours ago, I read a report that the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier had been scheduled to re-join the fight against ISIS later this year, but now the French aircraft carrier has been ordered back immediately .

I hope they unleash everything they've got on ISIS, just short of nuclear weapons.

Totally agree

@magicalclick:

Don't say Islamic. Religion has nothing to do with it. That's not how the modern political correct world is allowed to consider. One person's action does not represent the whole religion. Obviously they are discriminated against because people discriminated them due to religion and skin color. French should have treat those people better.

Screw that. They don't wish to leave their little carved out neighborhoods and deal with the French as well. Both sides can be blamed.

I'm tired of this. Regardless of the Islamic religion these people come from certain countries on the planet. If I ran the Zoo, I'd tell the heads of the middle eastern countries "clean up your backyard." Many of them denounce ISIS and all this crap but these people get funding some how. Put up or shut up and if you shut up, its time to wipe them off the planet. You don't want to live peacefully with the other inhabitants then get off the planet. We've got a method.

Are you really trying to claim that this is not based on religion?

Well, he probably wasn't an especially devout Muslim if his background included pub brawling.

And the notion that ISIS is composed of pious warriors is a bit difficult to reconcile with the discovery that pornographic images and videos constitute up to 80% of the data found on laptops captured from ISIS ...

The Washington Times: ISIS computers packed with porn

Then rise up take your country of origin back. Why are they such cowards? You want the country you blame Europe for ruining back from ISIS? Band together, you will be backed, and go take it back. Running to Europe, blaming them, and attacking citizens who are unaware isn't acceptable.

Rest in pieces, ISIS.

from what I heard the attacker was mostly a mad ISIS supporter , unfortunately there are many crazy people out there who are fed up with life and suffer from antisocial personality disorder

Spanish inquisition has been long dead, but Spanish inquisition was a response to Islamic invasion.

Started that way unfortunately. Such a sad thing. Worst was seeing the picture of the child with the doll. How can anyone justify that to themselves.

You need to rethink your statement. All I ever hear on these posts is one person doesn't represent an entire group or is it just the left groups we are talking about.

Ignore people like Jakejack, they were hurt by imaginary social justice warriors as kids so now they act like there is some war on white people.

Anyway lets focus on the tradgedy at hand. Sometimes it seems like ISIS is dying and then crap like this happens.

Some sites have already begun to compile mini-biographies for the victims.

The Telegraph (UK): Who are the victims of the Nice terror attack?

A 51-year-old US father, Sean Copeland, and his 11-year-old son, Brodie Copeland, were among those killed in the attack.
