I kind of get freaked out by these pictures (like a real life Cannibal Holocaust) but its also very interesting. The way they are colored and are standing, weird to think that tribes like this exsist still in this "modern" world:

it is indeed amazing and strange to see primitive man still walking the Earth, while the rest of the world lights up the night skies, visible from orbit.

Yes, and its crazy, there perception of a plane as an enemy, it must have freaked them out, enough to try to shoot at it with bows.

That's actually quite awesome. Then the stupid groups like PETA are going to march in and say "Durrr, stop hunting animals, like you have since the beginning of whatever & is your only hope of survival, durrrr" or something like that. Mark my word.

Incident liek this happned last year aswell. Althogh i think last year a group of men landed on a remote island and were chased off by the spear weilding tribes people. Must have been pretty scary.

Well ethnocentrism is just as bad as racism or sexism. Just because you think they're inferior, doesn't mean they should be painted blue. Wow, that last sentence is so ridiculous haha

As long as we leave them alone and let them get on with their lives then I'll be happy. They're obviously not ready for a modern life full of tech and stuff. Let's just hope that some evil billionaire doesn't try and turn them into celebrities.

I'm not too familiar with tribes. Our school didn't teach us anything about them. But I'm guessing it's to do with rank? Maybe the orange painted guys are the soldiers and the black painted guys are officers (sort of). It is fascinating stuff.

Someone should fly an Apache gunship down there and fire off a few hellfire rockets to freak them out. Then it should come down and hover in front of them, about 15 meters above the ground. The tribals will probably bown down and hail it as their new dragon lord. I'd like to see that.

This is fascinating on many levels in my opinion. I wonder what affect seeing the plane is going to have on their society. Without even trying we may have fundamentally altered their development. It's surprising that groups of people like this can remain hidden for so long, especially with all the satellites in orbit. I wonder if we could find their huts on Google Earth? The Geico cavemen better lock down their contracts asap. "It's so easy even lost Amazonian tribesmen can do it!"

They'll go back and tell the rest of the village they saw a UFO and they will laugh at them and say "surrrrre"

What if everyone that lived on Earth was just like them? Somewhere in another galaxy theres a world that has spotted "A primitive planet with no contact with the outside Universe." That would be so freakin' weird. They're staring at us right now with their satellites...

It kind of puts their whole situation into perspective, eh?

I wonder if we could learn about their culture without destroying it in the process.

I also wonder how they would react to a group of modern people trying to make contact with them.

Somehow I doubt it. Introducing modern people to their society automatically changes their culture from what it would've been had they not had any contact with the outside. Just seeing the plane probably caused some sort of cultural damage by itself.

These pictures are further evidence that uncontacted tribes really do exist. The world needs to wake up to this, and ensure that their territory is protected in accordance with international law. Otherwise, they will soon be made extinct.CNN article

Was this a poorly worded statement or are they equating them with animals?

I think it's really great, the measures that organizations down there go to in order to allow these people to continue being uninterrupted in there ways of life. So many tribal cultures have been destroyed and the few that still exist should definitely be maintained.

Uninterrupted? So in the event of a drought, no food should be delivered to them? How about medicine? They live in the jungle, the most disease-riddled environment on earth. What about conflict resolution? The article mentioned other tribes are migrating across the border from Peru. What happens if these tribes go to war with eath other? Do we sit back and maintain a Star Trekish Prime Directive?

We do nothing. What right is it of ours to interfere with the way these people have been living their entire exsistence, just because we discovered them doesnt change a thing. You complained that they were compared to animals, well in a sense they are, they are a primitive human species, do we save a gazel being chased by a lion? No, let nature take its toll.
