Wow man you have no respect at all. I sure hope you don't live in America and if you do you should get out of here. They fight so we do not have to. And trust me people do not join the army or marines for the money....Sorry to be the negative one here, but the army and the marine suck ass, anyone who kills people for money deserve no respect at all.
That is all.
Yongying
the us military can still serve the nation without the marines... that same statement would be difficult to say without that army..comp_atkinsThe Marines are part of the US Military...

They do? I wonder how many fights there would actually be if we didn't have such a large armed forces. At any rate, if not for them I certainly don't think I would feel compelled to fight.
the us military can still serve the nation without the marines... that same statement would be difficult to say without that army..comp_atkins... The marines are a smaller more elite group than the army that are usually dropped in the worse zones of combat..
the us military can still serve the nation without the marines... that same statement would be difficult to say without that army..xaosThe Marines are part of the US Military... of course it is. i'm illustrating that that the military could still do it's job if the marines were dissolved. they would have some difficulty though if the army were dissolved.
the us military can still serve the nation without the marines... that same statement would be difficult to say without that army..sSubZerOo... The marines are a smaller more elite group than the army that are usually dropped in the worse zones of combat.. exactly... they are smaller and (somewhat) redundant. the job could still get done ( likely more difficult though ) without the marines.
didn't bother to read all the pages but the marines are the only corp who has forces in land, air, and sea (or so i've been told)
And yet the MARINES are given the honorable and lethal duty intaking an assault (along with the British Army) in the southern region in Afghanistan, near the Helmand province (after Obama's 30,000 troop anouncement).....an area widely known by US intel to be the worst place where insurgents and militias, Al-Qaida affiliates etc. are known to occupy and where alot of Marines and Coalition forces have fallen.
There's something up when a TOUGH Job is needed to be done, and just so happens the MARINES are assigned for that duty...hmmmm, I wonder why.
And the Army? They're taking and occupying the northern region of Afghanistan. Not saying the Army is doing the least job.
I'm just saying, according to alot of News Reports via Internet, Newsweek, Time Magazine or other media outlets, it just so happens, that TYPICALLY, when a brutal engagement is announce, Marines are almost TYPICALLY sent over, first or assigned specifically for that engagement.
And as for the TC saying that the Marines were ONLYin the Pacific in WWII.....um, you do realize the Marines are Smaller than the Army right? Hence, the term A R M Y. And the Marines Island Hopping campaign made PERFECT SENSE for the Marines because they are an AMPHIBIOUS NAVAL INFANTRY force. Not like the ARMY, who are a LAND Base infantry force. However, the invasion of Normandy did have the US ARMY and Alied forces leading the way for a massive amphibious engagement against Germany, but again, the ARMY is much more larger than the few the proud.....the Marines.
The army is made up of a bunch of guys who cant handle the marines. The Marines would easily win.GTA_dude
Uhh..no. It all depends on your MOS. You think a pogue marine is better than an Army infantryman?

yes indeed. It all depends on your MOS. Marines is just better in Infantry. Because whenever we go into a war the Marines go in first. Thats y i said they are trained to be ready to die. It's no doubt that the army would lose BAD marines on the contrary go through all kinds of tests ans training.
They are masters of suprise courtesy of the water insertion training. Also they are more well equipped the few awesome infantry guns that we get go to
the marines. Another thing is the go through drowning school, fitness training, and HELL WEEK. Although the marines have less men, They have superior training and GUNS. Army would be tough but saying if this is only infantry versus infantry, US marines hands down.

Army has the better equipment buddy...

Marines are way to prideful they are traied to have this mentallity that they are the best, and if thats what gets them through situations thinking that then I see no problem with that. But most marines regardless are still prideful, would take a hard working soilder over a prideful marine anyday.
Army = Trained Civilians Marines = Trained Soldiers Marines >>>> ArmyNonstop-MadnessNo the army is not civilians.
This thread is filled with so much misinformation.....love the expert family members that served in one service and can speak for the other.
We always say the Jarheads are homless cause there pay check comes from the Dept on the Navy. If being a Marine was so great why are there more former Marine's in the Army? Because the Corp screws over there own. Most of the training that the Marines get are from Army or Navy.
My exp. 21B Combat Engineer, 89B Ammo specialist. We hand out the ammo to all the units. In school have the Ammo dogs were Marines cause that's where they get there training.
I know when I was in the army I trained some marines.:lol:We always say the Jarheads are homless cause there pay check comes from the Dept on the Navy. Ignorance in this thread.
I am a former Army Infantryman. I can tell you that Army Infantry are every bit as good as the Marines. I served along-side the Marines in Ramadi in Anbar province. The Marines were not any better. Any Marine Grunt who has served along-side Army Units will tell you the Army is just as good.
In the end we are all on the same side and these VS debates are point-less.
Army and Marine Infantry are equal
If you join the ARMY then that just means you Aren't Ready to be a Marine Yet! LOL! My friend told me that one, and he ended up joining the army to become an Apache pilot.

Just as easily as that?
The best pilots in the world... heck, even flying instructors fail to become Apache Pilots. Don't want to cast a doubt on your friend, but pessimism is my middle name.

100% Correct, but pointless threads are the stuff of OT!
the army, is with out a doubt the best fighting force in the world. they have the latest technology, and the best training. if you look in history, the army, in ww2 was fighting in europe, and the pacific, while the marines were stranded in the pacific. also, the marines say that they are the first in, but the army is usually there before it is even a war ie. the green barets, and delta force.
umm id like to point out thatdelta forceis the marines, green berets and rangers are army:x
the marines have been in all armed confilcts america participated in including the civil war(both sides)
as for training goes the marines have the toughest basic training of any US armed branch, excluding the training of special forces who are already active US servicemen during the selction proccess.
im not saying i prefer one group over the other, im just defending the corps from your "facts". i support all branches of my nations military even when i dont agree with what their being made to do, i still support the soldiers though.
Army Infantry training is longer than Marine Bootcamp. OSUT One Station Unit training. Its 16 weeks long.
Delta Force is not the marines.....it's the army.umm id like to point out thatdelta forceis the marines, green berets and rangers are army:x

That last part probably made you ooze pride out of evrey hole in your body amirite :D
Yeah the Marines love to have the media around. Alot of Army Units including mine did not like the media around.
ITT: A bunch of uneducated people who have never served in their life and get their information from Call of Duty. Other than LJS9502_basic who I think is former Army and possibly Ultimas.
mrbojangles25
its called research; documentary television shows, books, newspaper articles, internet articles, magazines, etc.
I am so tired of this "Oh you dont have firsthand experience, therefore you cant form an objective conclusion" bullcrap
Cleary the people in this thread don't do too much research if they're saying that regular infantry Marines are equal to Army Rangers. What a ludicrous statement.
Who TOTALLY fight evil knights in labyrinths! I just wish I could have found the dragon fighting commercials. Thank you, Marines, for defending our borders from the forces of Tiamat!. Marines are simply Navy Infantry with cooler uniforms and even cooler commercials.
xaos
That commercial was rediculous...where can I sign up.
But seriously this thread smells like crap due to the large number of information people are pulling out of their behinds.
Unless you have enlisted you can not be the judge, unless you get beat up by two guys. One from the army and one marine. Whichever knocks you out the fastest wins.
