Not cool...did he really have to kill the guy?

Needs some stupid codec. Honestly, flash is pretty universal. People should learn to use it on their websites. *downloadding useless codec that probably won't install correctly*http://www.ktvu.com/video/18409133/index.html

What the video doesn't mention is the barrage of stinging Yo Mama jokes that were being thrown at that officer.-Jiggles-roflwaffles

People should learn to use it on their websites. *downloadding useless codec that probably won't install correctly*Really? What browser are you using? Firefox 3. I don't know why I needed another Windows Media Player codec, because I go on other sites that use integrated WMP and there's never any trouble. Probably for the same reason that every few months I need a new silverlight codec. Mozilla would do well to offer those as extension updates when they come around or something. Anywho, saw the video, and that was absolutely unnecessary. THey had the situation under control and there seemed to be incredibly minimal struggle, and pretty much everyone seemed to cooperate. Maybe if the kid was being unreasonable(which he didn't seem), the cop could get in his face a little, but there was no justification for shooting the kid from what I saw.http://www.ktvu.com/video/18409133/index.html

The increasing number of corrupt cops these days makes me feel uneasy! :?Curlyfrii87Same...I'm scared to protest nowadays.

Protest nowdays = guaranteed taser!
[QUOTE="Curlyfrii87"]The increasing number of corrupt cops these days makes me feel uneasy! :?lilburtonboy748Same...I'm scared to protest nowadays. There are apparently no-protest zones in some cities now. And the LA swat team breaks up seemingly every protest that comes up with their rubber bullets and tear gas...whether the protest was peaceful or not.
its clips like this that don't make me feel bad when i hear about a cop dying on the news. I know they are people too, but i really cant feel sorry for this ******* pig. He'll get what is coming to him.shadow1988Sad thing is...he won't get what he deserves because he works for the agency that gives out punishment.

But I bet he doesn't even get that severe of punishment. I bet he'll get either suspended or kicked off the force, no more. I wonder what would happen if I did what he did...

Same thing happened in Greece and the place was full of rioters. And I saw another post above ("stuff like that happens everyday".) which is foolish. Stuff like that may happen everyday but this is no reason for them to continue happening. Is this an excuse to stand and do nothing?wii4panta
Youre getting into an arguement you wont win.
ill let it slide :P

[QUOTE="Curlyfrii87"]The increasing number of corrupt cops these days makes me feel uneasy! :?Bauers-Twinme too. I dont trust them, even the ones i know personally. It's not their fault. Every cop has to go through mental tests to be and remain a cop. This must happen every 6 months (or 4 if I remember well). If their supervisors fail to do that then these events are to be expected. (and believe me not every cop goes through these tests.) As far as I know their mental stability is like mines and yours if you know what I mean. (I'm not referring to all the cops generally of course.) A gun in ones hand holds many responsibilities and without the proper training (2 years long) people get wounded and/or die.
I don't know what's worse, what the police officer did or the posts in this thread. Officers should be treated with respect, and it sickens me to think that people here hate officers and don't trust them, this coming from somebody who's father was an RCMP officer (25 year vet) and somebody who is training to become one. very few officers are corrupt or violent at all, most police officers will do whatever it takes to avoid confrontation, and cops should be trusted. A few bad cops doesnt mean the entire force is corrupt.
On a second note, I think what the officer did in the video is dispicable and a disgrace to police officers everywhere, he will get jail time, murder is murder people, it was caught on video, so no excuses.

Agreed. My thoughts too.[QUOTE="Curlyfrii87"]The increasing number of corrupt cops these days makes me feel uneasy! :?lilburtonboy748Same...I'm scared to protest nowadays. armed protest... duh
Mmhmm. I trust individual cops. I know a couple and they're pretty great people. That said, you'd never catch me dead in LA. I know those cops put up with a lot of terrible people, and to keep them under controls they can do some pretty terrible things. It just spills over onto regular people far too often. Like I said, I trust individual cops because they listen to you. However, when a riot squad is in formation ordering you and others to leave the area or you'll be shot and/or gassed, they're not so talkative or reasonable. They won't listen, because that's not their job. I don't blame them so much as I'd blame the person in charge of ordering those kinds of assaults.I don't know what's worse, what the police officer did or the posts in this thread. I'll feel terrible for the cops as much as I currently feel terrible for protesters, but when that time comes all hell will break loose, and it won't be the police who realize their mistakes and ease up.

(I'm not saying you claimed otherwise. I just felt the need to point it out. :P )
