Videogames, Anime and Heavy Metal... huh?

Well maybe some of u guys have noticed that there is a strong connection between liking videogames and anime, its not always like this but still a good % of people liking both of them, but what i find really strange is that a lot people (not everyone) with this taste like heavy metal (including me)....

have u guys noticed this? or why do u think all this is connected?

I find anime OK, Metal is one of my least favorite types of music, and videogames tide me over when there is nothing else to do. Yup, theres a connection.

I do not like Anime, It's kind of weird to me.

Video games + Metal = PWNAGE.

It's the only time I mostly listen to metal, listening to it elsewhere feels odd.

I'd say a mix of heavy metal, trance, and J-rock/pop, but otherwise spot on.

Love games and metal, but not anime.

I love anime and video games...not too big of a fan of music when presented by itself. I enjoy music when it is used in conjunction with a different form of media (such as video games or anime) in a way that enhances the experience.

Haven't watched any anime since I was like 11. Love games and metal though.

If you like video games then you are significantly more likely to like anime (but notguaranteed) then some regular person.

Anyone remember the Kingdom Under Fire games? We need more games that aren't afraid of their whole soundtrack being metal. There could be any number of reasons for people liking metal, video games, and anime. They all have that "hard edge" appeal that angsty teenagers demand of their entertainment. Anime and video games go hand in hand, even games that look nothing like ultra-stylized anime borrow heavily from the genre. Also every single "horror" game has borrowed extensively from anime and Japanese film to create their mood and atmosphere.

i hate anime, but, i like progressive metal

Bolt Thrower used to advertise in C + VG back in the early 90's. They knew the geek market was a vast and untapped source of revenue that no other genre had broken.

I love anime and video games but have no clue what heavy metal means nowadays with all these music genres floating around. Not like I care about genres anyway since I just listen to random songs that tickle my fancy.

I dislike heavy metal.

I love video games but I generally dislike metal and I HATE anime. I'm not sure what it is, but most games DO seem to like anime and heavy metal. They also seem to be atheist and liberal too, but that might just be on these boards.

I can't stand anime or heavy metal. But yes, I have definitely noticed that more people like anime and heavy metal when they like Video Games.
