Was i right to do this?

Wow your neighborhood sounds pretty intense. Our High School has a pokemon club and nobody has ever flipped out like that. But still that kid sounds like a nub, you beat him fair and rectangle. plus you have to tell us what the pose is:)

Don't worry, your 'rival' will just get a head start on Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and when nobody in your neighbourhood cares about Pokemon anymore, he'll have had a headstart and will probably assume the posistion of 'feared opponent' that you have now, only with Yu-Gi-Oh cards instead of Pokemon. bethwo

Just turn around and walk away because you have said your piece.

Now, considering that you can't change the past, I'd suggest you apologise to him for taunting him. Don't offer to buy a replacement, though, because he broke it of his own accord.

You should be arrested for bringing back 1998. I never knew that people were still that serious about Pokemon. I thought I saw the last of the true Pokenerds die out when middle school happened.
