Lacrimosa - Versiegelt glanzumströmt (Enveloped, surrounded by radiance)
This is the third song off Lacrimosa's 4rd album "Inferno", released in 1995. Starting with the album "Angst" (Fear) in '91, founder, singer, writer, composer, arranger and producer Tilo Wolff (this is basically a one man act) created an experimental, dark and atmospheric gothic sound which gradually evolved adding drums and electric guitar/bass in the follow up "Einsamkeit" (Loneliness) and becoming a little harder and with a more defined rock structure in the 3rd album "Satura", all while retaining it's core dark, deeply introspective atmosphere.
This 4th album was a turning point for the band, featuring (then) guest musician Anne Nurmi, who was the singer of an obscure finnish Metal band called Two Witches, on backing vocals, keyboards and even a little help in composing the songs, and who would end up becoming a permanent member of the band. Obviously, Nurmi brought with her some heavy Metal influences which led Wolff to experiment with some even heavier sounds and even more grandiose cIassical arrangements. All of this led to an album which, although it remained faithfull to it's gothic, dark roots, had a more Hard Rock/Metal feeling to it, with prominent use of guitar and drums, changing the previous albums' nostalgic darkness in favor of a little moodier, less introspective, at times even agressive kind.
Although some consider this album to be a gothic masterpiece, and I agree it's pretty good, this song isn't exactly what I'd use to get newcomers into this band. One would argue it takes too long to get started seeing as it's 7 minutes long and more than half of the song is acoustic and very atmospheric (like I said, Wolff didn't depart entirely from his roots, he never has, although the band keeps evolving), although when it does get started it's quite intense and emotional. So if you're patient and are in the mood for a great dark rock song that starts out real slow, you may find something to like here. Enjoy!
So, no love for Lacrimosa? :(
Heh, it doesn't really surprise me... :P
Midnight in a Perfect World-DJ Shadow
I really can't think of words to describe this song,it's just amazing,beautiful,emotional,artistic,intuitive...unlike anything you've ever heard.
It just makes you think....contemplate.Oh,and it's my favorite song, woot.
Psycroptic - Immortal Army of One
New album from this band, they have the same vocalist but he seems to have listened to the fans that compared him badly to their older vocalist who had a better range of vocals. Now he goes from hardcore screams, to his great growl, and even some high pitched stuff (ala Chalky their old vocalist). Great album, the riffs are technical but has a great groove. Drums are a highlight here.
The Number Twelve Looks Like You - Paper Weight Pigs
Interesting mathcore band that formed in the early 2000's. This track is one of many great ones from their third release and 2007 album "Mongrel". Definitely a fun band to listen to, I'd recommend for anyone who's into experimental and adventurous rock and hardcore.
Sam Cooke - A Change is Gonna Come
This song moves me. I don't know whether it's the powerful subject of racial inequality or Sam Cooke's equally powerful voice, but whenever I hear it my hairs go on end. That's when you know a song is powerful. I can't stop singing this song, either.
Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy Name
This, and "Innocent Exile" are my favorite Maiden songs.

[QUOTE="XDeSuEhTX"]mathcore band Jandurin:? WTF is a mathcore? Sounds like a school pathway.
I think mathcore = extremely technical hardcore (or metalcore, I'm not sure) band, so technical you might as well call it math. :P
Cold Hands Warm Heart- Brendan Benson
best song of the Smallville SOundtrack that I found out newly. It is a depressing though :( but its so upbeat its kinda funy...
I didn't even know he was dying while he was recording Donuts. That's depressing as hell.I get sad when I get near the end of Donuts, you can tell Dilla knew he was dying at the end of that album :(

It's such a great album, too.
The Warrior Inside by DragonForce.
Sounds just like the worlds best anime intro to me.

The start of that song reminds me of some local music, what exactly do you like about the song? I love the chorus.
Saccharine Trust - I Have...
This has to be one of SST's most underrated groups. Paganicons was also one of Cobain's favourites.
Daft Punk - Robot Rock *Thinks to himself that it would be neat to see a Daft Punk chain* >_>fastesttruck
 It would indeed be neat. But alas, the new rules do not allow for it.
Human After All (Justice Remix) Daft punk.

I love the intro; it reminds me of the OP to Myself; Yourself, and I too love that chorus. I think it's the second best song on the new album, next to Heroes of Our Time.
I'm currently listening to Scary Kids Scaring Kids - My Darkest Hour.
It's off of the album The City Sleeps In Flames.
They're a decent post-hardcore band from Arizona.
I really dig The Beatles too. And that's a great song.I'm Looking Through You - The Beatles
To me, this song perfectly showcases McCartneys genius - such a simple song, just a few chords, yet such a remarkable pop song
God, I love The Beatles

I myself, am currently listning to Minus The Bear - Drilling.
I love Minus The Bear, such a great band. They have a great sound, consisting of guitar taps, electronics, and some awesome time signatures that are pretty sophisticated.
Paganicons wasn't a very good album though, besides the song Human Certainty.Saccharine Trust - I Have...

I like it. I've heard some people say we became snakes is better but I haven't heard that yet.

It's much jazzier. They're not a bad band, they just had a bad debut album. And Jack Brewer's voice can be heart-wrenchingly awful at times, if only because it's quite unusual and just doesn't fit.But you have inspired me to go listen to Human Certainty - Saccharine Trust, and since I don't actually own the album that the song is on, I had to listen to it on Youtube. Take that RIAA! (not that they care about an independent release being "pirated" on Youtube, the hypocrites.)
Human Certainty.
I'm odd like that. I only tend to listen to one band at a time. Most times the same set of songs up to 5 times a day. I don't have any Daft Punk CD's. The power of Youtube helps me hear the music :) I'm gonna make a Daft Punk playlist soonMan you love Daft Punk! Do you have all their albums?

Now listening to 'I Apologize' by Husker Du
Another great little pop song, only given a little makeover by the Huskers :P
New Day Rising is such an incredible album...I dunno whether it or Zen Arcade are my favourites, or Flip Your Wig...
Great band all the same :D
Zen Arcade was the last real hardcore album by the Huskers, so it's automatically better. Now listening to 'I Apologize' by Husker Du

Nothing wrong with Flip Your Wig, though.

I agree to some extent that his voice can be annoying (although most hardcore punk vocalists of the early eighties weren't any different). It's cool to see someone else who knows them though as they seem to be quite obscure in comparison with what most people are listening to here.
