Give It All - Rise Against
I only got into Rise Against just recently (about two weeks ago to be exact). My friend in French class asked me if I wanted to go to a concert with her since 2 of our other friends, who were thinking of going, couldn't go. I asked who, she said Rise Against and I told her to give me a few days. I downloaded their second "first" album, their 3rd and their 4th album off of Ruckus and I liked what I heard, especially their fourth album The Sufferer & The Witness. Probably their best album.
Some recommended tracks:
Collapse (Post - Amerika)
Re-Education (Through Labor)
Ready to Fall
Drones
Behind Closed Doors
Bad Penny - Big Black
Brutal song
Big Black were the best band to ever use a drum machine
zepman71
I've always wanted more albums by Big Black but the only one I've ever been able to get hold of is "Songs About ****ing" and since I have a thing against downloading (I like to have an actual product I can hold and look at the artwork for and such) I don't know if I'll ever get another... :(

I couldn't find Atomizer in stores or online for sale anywhere...
So I had to go to the last resort :(
Brilliant album though
[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Trent Reznor agrees with me.:DSamwel_X
Actually, I'd disagree with that statement. Reznor has always been misquoted in that respect. I believe he said something along the lines of "Cash's version sounded weird, it didn't sound right because it was my song" and he said that it was the Mark Romanek music video that was so powerful that gave the cover the edge.
So the song alone is not better in the eyes of Reznor, rather the video song couple.
Not exactly. He felt strange listening to someone else perform what was a very personal song for him. Once he was over his initial shock he said he hasn't listened to his song and what they did with it was very powerful. He also so the cover was more important than industry accolades. Not exactly. But the DVD commentary, which is regularly quoted he says felt weird until he saw the video. Only after the video did he realise it "wasn't his song anymore" so as I said before, it is after the song coupled with the video that he believes it is powerful.
And I agree with him. I like Cash's version, but I think it is that video which really completes the song, because the video is a very powerful piece of work.
Ultimately, dependent on whose version you prefer you can interpret TR's words differently. But here is the source in question.
"Shoot to Thrill" - AC/DC
I'm not a big AC/DC fan, but I recently saw a live concert of them on t.v., so I decided to dig up Back in Black, the only album I have.
Without Me-Eminem
Like Toy Soldiers- Eminem
When I'm gone- Eminem
Stan-Eminem
Sing for the Moment-Eminem
Skepticism - Pouring
Man do I love listening to Funeral Doom from time to time. It's not something I can at all times but damn do I love the atmosphere.
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Decapitated - Winds of Creation
At the same time!m/:twisted:m/
So ******* awesome. I should do this more often.^_^
I've done that before, sometimes it sounds really strange, and other times really awesome.Kreator - Pleasure to Kill

Faith No More - Evidence
Mike Patton = genius and one of the greatest. If you're reading this right now, you need to go download this song immediately. Just PM me with your thank you's and gratitude after you have heard it. :)
Within You - Ray LaMontagne
Very mellow song thats been used on Greys Anatomy, One Tree Hill and more as 'Sad Times' music.
Im listening to The Roots' Concerto of Desderado off Illadelph Halflife.
This is real hip hop. It's "concious" hip hop. None of the "Im gonna loop the same two-three words over an over and make a hit" Bull****. Listen to them if you haven't already.
At the Drive In - Relationship of Command.
Yeah, I understand that they were on a major label (I think) and that the Mars Volta sucks and whatever, but Relationship of Command is a pretty decent album. It might even be great.
Being on a major label does not diminish the talent (non specific band) nor does not being on a major label increase the talent. That's not the best way to judge music. At the Drive In - Relationship of Command.

Are Grand Royal and Fearless Records even major labels?
While I'm at it, Nation of Ulysses - The Sound of Jazz to Come.
Better than ATDI, because it's on an indie label. Not really. It's better for other reasons.
Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger
Simply amazing. It has a hypnotic quality. The simplistic riff and constant fast simplistic drumming go a long way to making me ******* love this song.

They are on my list of bands to check out. I love Fugazi so hopefully they will be good like their Dischord labelmates.
Bad Brains - Big Takeover

The drummer is Fugazi is the brother of one of the members of Nation of Ulysses, in case you didn't know.[QUOTE="crazyjames1080"][QUOTE="Greatgone12"]While I'm at it, Nation of Ulysses - The Sound of Jazz to Come.
