Yes, I am. Don't think I'll be able to watch that scene if the show makes it to a third season.tryagainlater
I was very close to throwing the book away after that. VERY close.

That's what I am talking about. He has a very dark style. I am always like, "George, throw me a fargin bone every once in a while. Let something good happen for once. Come one, man!". LOL.LOL. He's been slowing down though. Took him a long time to write the last 2 in the series. I like his style but he does tend to be very dark at times. sonicare
He really is a sadist. I honestly don't think I've ever been mad at a author until I read A Storm of Swords.
Anyway, now I have A Dance With Dragons on my Kindle, so I don't need to carry that heavy as f*** hardcover around.
Almost done with The Road while I wait for Metro 2033.. anyone happen to have any recommendations as I seem to be pretty interested in these kinds of books.
Also got Prince of Thieves, City of Ember and Alas Babylon on a list to read.

Well then!I recently finished Joyner's Dream, The Iliad (After a year of putting it off), The Damned: The Canadians at the Battle of Hong Kong and the POW Experience, Way of the Peaceful Warrior, A Painted House; all of which I would recommend (For various reasons). Right now I'm reading The First World War, brushing up a bit on my 20th century history, I guess.
You might like The Prestige; it's kind of a Sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, and drama all in one!

Will check it out, thanks for the suggestion.Well in the past few days I have read: Ghost Story by Jim Butcher, Odyssey One by Evan Currie, Containment by Christian Cantrell, Shadows of Aggar by Chris Anne Wolfe, The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham. I can't recommend Jim Butcher enough, and was pleasently surprised by Odyssey One and Containment which I'm pretty sure are self-published if I remember correctly.

I'll second that and add "Swan Song" by Robert R. McCammon.I'm finally getting back to 'Demons' by Fyodor Dostoevsky after completely forgetting that I had it on the shelf and then putting it off due to distractions. On the side I'm also reading various collections I bought of Robert E. Howard stories in all sorts of genres.
I'm reading the Qur'an and 'Mere Christianity' by C.S. Lewis. Mere Christianity is excellent so far; it contains the best argument for objective morality I've ever seen.

I can't wait to find out what you guys are talking about... The anticipation is killing me! I want to look at spoilers!I'm upset with myself. A. I didn't realize A Dance with Dragons is out and B. I made the mistake of reading reviews for the book and now kinda don't want to read it. According to most, it sounds like he has gone the path of ultra convoluted and boring ala Robert Jordan, something that killed The Wheel of Time for me. Please tell me it's different? :( Right now I'm reading A Song of Ice and Fire again.majoras_wrath
The only thing about Dance with Dragons I didn't like was how some characters were a bit monotonous story wise. It's a great book though. Much better than the last book in the series A Feast for crows. It's a much better series than The Wheel of time. If you hate cliffhangers though you will hate some parts of it.

One of his best works and my favorite (that's obvious) i might add. :)
Just finished The Gap into Ruin: This Day All Gods Die by Stephen R. Donaldson.
Starting Hawaii by James A. Mitchener today.

I personally think it's much better than Feast. I didn't like Feast as much as I wanted to.
I'll probably start reading The Sum of All Fears sometime soon...

If you haven't read Without Remorse yet, I highly suggest it. One of Clancy's best books.
I shall look forward to reading it. Im only two chapters in so far.Best book of the series right there.

Well I guess that's good because I rather enjoyed Feast, I didn't know anyone considered it boring. So maybe I should stop reading reviews :PPlease Log In to post.
