Hey guys, I am interested in what american's think of europe since there dosen't seem to be an opinion on it. We all know what most people think of america's (Fat, Lazy and not very smart etc), which I think is way exajurated. I am just interested what america's think of europe as a whole?

Since I am from europe, I shall give my view about america. I think america's are very nice people and I hope that in future I can go on holiday and see what is it like living there. I heard that the food isn't too good and that most america's are not very smart. Personally I think that that the negative things about america is way over exajurated. One thing I don't like about USA is it's goverment which in my opinion is corrupt and stupid.

Glad to hear your opinions:)

I think it's impossible to have an opinion on "europe" seeing as there are so many completely different countries within it. I know i feel very differently towards France than i do towards Italy, for example.

americans think we have no TVs and computer. actually, they dont think we have any electricity at all. also, they think this place is flooded with malaria and that we live in straw huts.

they also think the chicks over here are all either eskimos or superhot latinos. oh, and all we eat is fruit etc that we find out in the woods.. during fiesta, obivously.

From what I've gathered, most Americans consider Europe as the pinnacle of wild sex, alcohol, parties and crime.
They also believe it borders Australia.

Well I'm European, and I'll give my opinion of America (From what I've experienced) ...

A lot of them are very freindly to foreigners, especially from Europe ... every one of them I talked to while in 5 different states took to me and my companions while there. So its definitly a place I'd go to again, and possibly live in ...

I'll not give my opinion on the government however, even thought I DO have an opinion on them under George Bush ...

I also heard the women are better there.

Id love to go to Europe, it seems like a very pretty place with generally nice people. Germany, France, Greece and England would be my places of choice. Also, Austria and Italy.

I am Canadian, btw :D

I don't know what to think, other than they're very quick to judge us. Like in France, they think we're complete idiots because we can't speak French. I doubt half of them can speak English. How bout you guys hop the pond and then we'll see who's laughing . But really, I feel like other countries are quick to judge us as just being stupid and ignorant, which makes me feel like they're all eltist punks.

Actually the standard of teaching in France of English is way, way, way beyond what we get here in England for french and spanish. I remember having a class of french exchange student in our school for a week and they were amazed at how crap our french was.

I was taught that he pretty much sailed to America, chilled with some Natives for a while, then sailed back to Spain.

it is fast becoming a country your right but its becoming that with out asking the people what they want and the reason they don't ask is because every European country would vote against a united Europe we in the UK liked the idea in the 70s of free trade between European countries but ever so slowly we are being sucked into an illegal union without are chance to vote on it if you ask me we should have just all stayed in the free market and help each other stay ahead that way and keeped are independent states .

Columbus sailed to the Americas and thought it was a completely different country.

This is what I have gathered from living in the United States:

- Thinks that England is like the US, hold favorable opinions about the country. Does not know the difference between England, Britian, and the UK.

- It is hard to find someone who likes France, Americans have never been fans of the French.

- Enjoys making Nazi jokes about Germany.

- Is completely oblivious about any other European country.

Ooph. Everyday Americans kind of scare me. I was once told by them that the Czech Republic is located in Africa and of course it's still known to them as Czechoslovakia. Thankfully there are many Americans who are aware of the world.

We should make a union of non-stupid americans. We need to band together so other nations will see us, instead of the stereotypical americans that plague the media.

I'd really like to know where this notion that French people hate English comes from. In general the youth think English is "cool". They've even put English in their euphemisms and pop-songs. I'd say that probably half of the biggest French pop-songs have some English in their lyrics.

It's really us American and British people that are incredibly inflexible when it comes to language.

People in Europe aren't too fond of France either. My personal experience they are rather nationalistic. You kind of feel like an outsider which you are but many other countries are more welcoming. Of course as always that doesn't include everyone.

I'd say the same thing about Italy but for different reasons. From my experience there's a special sort of animosity between northern Europeans and Italians. This is mostly because of how extroverted Italians are; they are loud, and have little respect for privacy and personal space (of course this is a generalization, though).

Not in the country side. Very classic. Even big cities I feel retain their "self" even if there are McDonald's everywhere.

Well, if you want a truly authentic experience you can always go to Eastern Europe. Parts of Western Europe truly are becoming too Americanized.
