I earn most of my income through a combination of investing and teaching music. Then some from performance-related stuff. And though I'm usually not paid for composition, I spend enough time on it to consider it part of my profession.pianist
Pianist? Do you play any other instrument?

No. As late as university, I was still playing violin and percussion, but at some point you have to make a decision to specialize in an instrument to truly excel at it.

I understand, still, I am a bass guitar player and I plan to play guitar to perfect my skills. Right now I am playing old SNES video games OST. I usually mix the keyboard lyrics with the bass lyrics. It made me learn more than I though...I understand, I am playing bass guitar for 7 years but the love for music just came back when I listened to some old video games OST... now I am so over Mega Man, Double Dragon, Battletoad ecetera... :P
[QUOTE="Redgarl"]WTH? You know what, i could do that also... but I don't have the certification...[QUOTE="TheFlush"]I'm a graphics/webdesigner at a design studioTheFlush

It's not so much an issue if you're talking about instruments with a lot of inherent similarities. For instance, it's quite common for a violinist to also learn viola (or vice versa), but it wouldn't be common to find an exceptional violinist who is also an exceptional cellist. Same with clarinets and saxophones. And I could, with a bit of effort, learn to play harpsichord as well as I play piano. But organ would be a different story. So if you play bass and want to learn 'normal' guitar, too, it shouldn't be a problem. You could be very good at both, because they are not entirely different instruments.

Is it boring?Working at John Lewis (its a department store, for anyone who doesnt live in the UK), work on the IT section.

Right now I'm getting paid by my school through August while I finish my thesis. I'm interviewing for real jobs and it looks like I'll either be a human factors engineer for Kenworth or Microsoft, or a clinical engineer for a children's hospital (I was almost a forensic engineer, but turned down the offer). I'm also working on starting up my own business producing audio equipment.dgbiker1What do those engineering jobs do exactly.........

Meh, its alright. The only bad thing is having to deal with the public. Our store tends to attract the older customer, so trying to explain computers to them is like talking to a brick wall.
