I have $67,000 saved in my savings account right now. I plan on being a cook for the CAF(Canadian armed Forces)and stay in that career for 25-30 years. I would have a great pension and a ton of money by then.

That's quite true. I agree that the car is aesthetically pleasing.
Eh.
Are you going to be driving it a lot? It's not exactly easy on gas and there's no more room for luggage than a touring motorcycle. If you put a lot of distance on it, too, it'll drive the value down even faster than it would otherwise. I know that cars are a bad investment in the best situation...and buying a Viper and letting it sit in your driveway is probably the most ideal automobile investment you could make, all things considered. Still, you'd be better off putting your money in a pillowcase and burying it in your backyard, since it wouldn't depreciate as fast as a Viper.
I could think of many better purchases you could make with that money and they wouldn't involve tossing $80k on a car - you could get something fast for under $40k and then just invest the difference and spend it all on hookers and booze in ten years.
I'd much rather get a BMW or something along those lines than a viper.
I don't like what the neww models look like at all.
The only problem im facing is if I buy It before I join the CAF, I would have to leave It parked for 25 years, but I would still have a car after im done my military service.Eh.

If your looking for some American muscle for around the 70-80k range, I would go for the Corvette Z06...the Viper has more HP, but the 0-60 time is VERY close (vette is 3.7 and viper is around 3.5 seconds)..vette looks better (to me), it costs less, and its will give you less problems (vipers tend to give owners problems).
The Viper looks cooler with green Metallic paint, and what Is a BMW?I'd much rather get a BMW or something along those lines than a viper.

How old are you now? You have a career and making money so you aren't a car. House with a hot tub and a good master bedroom would be cruising.Varese_basic
i cant make heads or tails out of that sentence. On topic however, if you want to spend your hard earned money on a luxury, go for it. thats why you have money. but it wouldn't necessarily be the smartest thing to do.
A person deserves to treat themselves out once in a while eh?Vilot_Herotrue if thats your dream car the get it man. But if I had that kind money id make a fat down payment for a house.

Sooo...you wont be able to even drive the car for 25 years? Then just wait till then...there will be something 100x better by then (why do you have to wait that long?).

And like I said before, in 25 years there will be something way better and most likely with something like 2500 hp lol.

Some people like speed. Why? Because speed is fun. Admittedly you could just get a ZX12 which could rape that Viper any day and only costs about $15kGet something almost as fast and more luxurious for a better price. The new 2009 Caddy V Series (cheaper than the STS or XLR V). The new CTS V. 556 hp one of the fastest street car in the world. If you want to splurge I reccomend you buy American and you get the best bang for your buck. Also you have much more trunk space. Its a luxury car that can fly (my dad had the 05 CTS V and it is very spacious for what it provides.). Also it gets better MPG 16/25 (not great but for a sports car you cant ask for much better). If your goona splurge do it right. Although I do not reccomend this plan. The V would also be easier to maintain.

or Porsche 911 997 GT3supermechakirby
S5s are nice...but way underpowered compared to the Viper and Z06, I think hes going for a raw strait line hp monster. A 911 would be nice tho (maybe even a cayman)

Id take a Gran Turismo S over it any day
How old are you? The fact that you have $67,000 dollars makes me assume you're a bit older, yet you haven't even acquired your desired career yet which makes me wonder how you accumulated that much money.
But in my advice, it's a waste of money. Yes it's a nice car, but the fact is, it's just a car. It's a tool to get you from point A to point B and I don't see the point in spending all that money on a car. If you're going to lay down money for a nice car, I would go for a car like a BMW as a previous poster mentioned because it's classy yet also comfortable.
Heres a tip, dont buy a car that will cost the everage persons annual income. It will cost you 30,000$ a year to maintain and gas up. Vipers require high octane gas which is expensive compared to standard octane.MontayaYa sport cars are a **** to maintain. My dad (works for GM so he knows cars) sold his 2005 V because of how hard it was to maintain. He had to change the tires 4 times a year!!!!! the gas wasnt too good either. Seriously I would not reccomend this plan.
