What is your opinion?

I think this is a minefield.
I will say this. There seems to be a lot of room for interpretation of the TOU by the mods, and there is no appeal process.
I love the mods! Let them bless us with their glory!
Shh, you fool, they're watching us! We have to hold these meetings in private, so they don't know of our plans to rebel and take over Gamespot!
chessmaster1989Careful, your spoiler didn't clearly indicate you were joking! You'd better add a ":P", lest you be perma-banned in order to prevent an uprising!
Too strict, honestly._VermDO NOT GO AGAINST THERE WORD OR YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED BY THE GODS OF GS.....we have to talk in private, they must not know of our freedom club you fool.

Too strict, honestly.Taylor_BDO NOT GO AGAINST THERE WORD OR YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED BY THE GODS OF GS.....we have to talk in private, they must not know of our freedom club you fool. I thought you were leaving? i went there for 5 minuets and i rem why i left...cows and fanboys ruining almost every thread with there ignorance and insults.
In the eyes of a ranger, the unsuspecting stranger had better know the truth of wrong from right. When the eyes of a ranger are upon you anything you do he's gonna see. When you're on Gamespot look behind you, because that's where the ranger's gonna be.
Basically mods=rangers and both are totally awesome. They keep order and are very understanding. They just want what's best for this site and it's for the greater good that you obey the ToU.
I won't generalise. I've been treated fairly, and when I've crossed the line I've been aware of it at the moment I hit submit. The TOU is deliberately vague on some points though, and I can count on one hand (maybe finger) the number of mods who are totally impartial, so why take silly risks? Also, I'm willing to put money on this being hijacked by a bunch of mods within 5 minutes. (That's not against the gambling part of the TOU, is it?)blazingkiller63Why? Im just aksing people of there opinion, am i not allowed to do that? It's not a criticism of you, it's a rhetorical question about breaking the rules in general.
I think that they used to be a lot worse. Prior to that, things were easy-going IMO. Now, I would say they're so-so. No complaints from me.
Oh for mods that are going to bann me for speaking & asking opinion, blazingkiller63 is my alt acount, just so you know.
I have never had a problem with them. On the two occasions where I received a point loss moderation, I knew there was an excellent chance of being moderated when I posted what I did. I just decided it was worth it, because the people I responded to were in one case gloating about doing something which could put innocent people at risk, and in the second case, harrassing another user here.
Never had a questionable moderation. Others have reported being moderated seriously under what I thought were questionable circumstances, but it was always when trodding on risky territory. My advice to avoid moderations? Earn the respect of the moderators of the forum you post at by posting in an intelligent and friendly manner before you post controversial words at the forum. It's entirely possible to debate without offending anyone. Many of the established users do this on a regular basis. Compare the posts of, say, GabuEx to some of our dearly departed users who weren't annoying fools, and you'll find that there is a very clear difference in the level of respect demonstrated towards opponents.
I really don't mind the TOS, and I don't mind the moderators upholding them. There are plenty of places on the internet where you can use your cloak of anonymity to be nasty to people who don't agree with you. Far more places than those where you are expected to treat everyone with respect - even people who don't necessarily deserve it based on their own nasty behavior.
Honestly i think some mods tend to go crazy with power and put there personal opinion when modding someone sometimes.I have never had a problem with them. On the two occasions where I received a point loss moderation, I knew there was an excellent chance of being moderated when I posted what I did. I just decided it was worth it, because the people I responded to were in one case gloating about doing something which could put innocent people at risk, and in the second case, harrassing another user here.

That's probably true, actually. :P
I prefer having them around.Yes some do need to learn a lesson or two but quite a few are fine.
Debate is very easy to do without offending anyone. As you can see in my martial arts topic im debating with someone right now.Kinda pointless since he isnt even attempting to grasp anything but at least its not entirely offensive.I prefer this to anything else.Though the mods have been known to let me have my fun when im taking care of a fool insulting one of my friends.I typically get allowed to have a field trip with it.Thats fun and the person usually deserves it.
But mods are here for a reason. As long as things go well i dont mind them.
What does that have to do with anything? :?Oh for mods that are going to bann me for speaking & asking opinion, blazingkiller63 is my alt acount, just so you know.
What does that have to do with anything? :? to see if your cruel enough, that way you can bann both, i can go somewere a bit more "free" and not have to worry about this account.Oh for mods that are going to bann me for speaking & asking opinion, blazingkiller63 is my alt acount, just so you know.
If your mind has no middle ground between Care Bear and what it takes to get modded here, I'd be worried! :PI find the only way to not get moderated is to think that this is the care bear forums.
