I think it's BR00T4LLY HxC!! lmao :P It gets your adrenaline pumping. I've actually just gotten into this genre like 2 years ago. Before that, I used to only listen to mainstream music...pop punk bands, typical bands that teenage girls are known to love. But I'm not a girl...which makes me a...girly guy?! O.o But yeah, I like metalcore in general. My music tastes have changed a lot this past few years. Dont worry, I still listen to girl music hahaha :p Oh, and if you happen to like that song that i posted above. Be sure to check out the lyrics for that song. It's VERY meaningful. Especially if you're going through a hard time. If you actually understand the lyrics, you'll know that this is a great song. "Life can be overwhelming, but don't turn your back on the strongest crutch you've ever had. They have always been there to brace your fall. Wave goodbye to the past. You've got your whole life to lead. It's time to gain some ground." Those were part of the lyrics to the song. It's amazing. The lyrics are what make the song in my opinion. Most of you guys might think that "screamo" songs have like satanic lyrics to them, and this clearly proves you wrong. These guys are actually Christian believe it or not. Okay enough of that. Hopefully that changed your views on "screamo" music.
I like screamo. Not a big fan of metalcore but strangely enough I do like deathcore quite a bit. My favourite types of screamo would probably be 90s screamo and any band that sort of changes from the typical scheme of things.
I think people who don't like metalcore because it's "not real metal" are just elistist buttheads (no offence). If you can listen to "real metal" and enjoy it then there's no reason to hate metalcore, unless it's too hardcore for you :P
The only metalcore band that I like is Avenged Sevenfold's I haven't looked into many othere metalcore bands, but I haven't really liked what I've heard.

I will take this over what you posted any day of the week. Most the only (non grindcore) -core band I currently like is Here Comes the Kraken. The rest of it just bores me. And even then, I'll take real death metal over that 11 times out of ten.:P
I find the music irritating, and I find the people who are obsessed with it just as irritating. I like some lyrics to songs that I can't stand the music to, it's actually rather off-putting when I see somebody post great lyrics, search them and have to hear somebody having their testicles chopped off. That didn't change my views on screamo at all, it's annoying to listen to. If people can write decent lyrics, why not drop the crappy sound, and drop the stupid image and become a well-respected band that people of all ages can enjoy, not just the too-hardcore-to-be-emo-too-dark-to-be-scene teenagers.
Emo kids think the world hates them and they need to QQ and cut themselves, scene kids don't, they're overly colorful and even more annoying than emo kids because they talk more.
They've never appealed to me, even though I must say I've heard far more "ugly" music in the cIassical avant garde. Music does not have to be loud to evoke emotion - and when it's loud all the time, it quickly becomes tiresome to listen to.

Well...that was incoherent. Anyway metalcore and screamo are both pretty mainstream so I don't know why you thought otherwise, not tha tit matters. Popularity has ntohing to do with how good a band is. Also, "girly" music isn't really my thing at all but if other people like it whatever. I have a special grudge against metalcore though, because since it claims itself as metal it puts a terrible black mark on the genre....and not the good kind.

As for the core genres, I do enjoy some metalcore and feel the need to get into deatchore after getting the songs Day of Mourning by Despised Icon and Embedded by Job For a Cowboy on rock band. So much fun attempting the drums on those (I can pass Embedded regularly but have yet to pass Day of Mourning).

Despised icons first album is the only one worth listening to. As far as I can only really suggest, through the eyes of the dead(status as deathcore debateable), the red chord(statuts as deathcore debateable), and here comes the kraken.
I hate how the meaning of hardcore has changed since the overall takeover of emo. It actually started it's decline with modern day punkrock, but it's only when that evolution hit emo, that hardcore became affected. Now people actually believe that bands originating from emo have a correlation with hardcore. don't get me wrong, I like all sorts of music, even whiny bullcrap from Taking Back Sunday to incoherent bullcrap like Despised Icon. They just have nothing to do with Hardcore; and the thing that's called Metalcore these days are even worse. I remember back when they called it Emocore. but the kids started crying up a storm when emo became a pejorative word. Now Enter Shikari is considered *shudder* Metalcore. I'm sure Jamey Jasta is thrilled to be thrown in the same lot as them... same with Deathcore called Emoviolence Although in all fairness I too would be upset if I was called such a weird contradictory term. I even had a band that threatened to cancel their gig on me, because they didn't want to be stamped Emoviolence, but Deathcore on the flyer. They strangely enough didn't.. /end rant.

I only like a few metalcore songs. I don't usually like the structure of a metalcore song. A lot of songs sound like one of the band members thought of a cool breakdown and then the other guys tried to write a song around that. That's using breakdowns as a crutch, which makes for a very predictable listening experience. The screams are hit or miss for me. Philip Labonte sounds great and he has a big range.
The only metalcore band that I like is Avenged Sevenfold's I haven't looked into many othere metalcore bands, but I haven't really liked what I've heard.

As for screaming in songs, I only listen if their is also singing involved, like Trivium, Killswitch Engaged, and All That Remains (saw them all at Mayhem, **** AWESOME!). Justin Bieber is just some wanna be **** rapper. Oh, metalcore is metal by the way. Sick and tired of people saying it isn't. If Metallica and Megadeth are metal then metalcore definently is.
ehh I use to listen to screamo and metalcore when i was a teen but my musical tastes for "scream" bands have evolved to Death metal/Black metal as I grew up. And when i look back on what I use to listen to, it just seems a bit adolescent.
