i dont think ive been on topic in this thread, ok so replying to the thread, what does USA offer that other countries cannot

mmk, well, the great thing about america is...... love neon lights ? beautiful oceans, you can go to florida/ miami, and it will be different (where i am right now be jealous of me LOL)

you can go to california/hollywood & it will be different, you can be paris hilton ! you can experience different culture, different weather, different architecture, different food

you can go to new york and it will different, same as above

you can go to Chicago and it will be different, same as above

you can go to montana and watch the beautiful moutains

you can go to hawaii and enjoy paradise

not feeling the cool weather ? take your ass to hot ass texas or arizona

want country life ? go to north carolina or Colorado

oh so you say you dont like the neon lights in miami ? not enough for ya, then why dont you go to Las Vegas

or.....you can go to canada !!!! haha

what im getting at is.........America as a nation has arguably the most diverse geography out of anywhere most people want to travel the world, and i want to, but not until i travel to EVERY state in america, **** yes !

from my experience after having visited the US twice: USA has got A FEW nice cities (NYC being the nicest one and my favourite city in the world, so far), and a few nice spots (but every country has got that). It also offers good education and alot of diversity. also, its the richest country in the world (though not per capita). One thing the US offers that i dont think any other country in the world offers (atleast not to this extent). the fact that NO MATTER what time of the year it is, SOME PLACES in the country/nation will always be WARM AND SUNNY and some will always be FREEZING. this is probably my favourite thing about USA (apart from the lovely, big cities).

Incredible diversity and integration. There's really something for everyone. Remember, it's a big country.Engrish_Major
Canada or even UK is more diverse and too be honest America still has a large discrimination for Arabs. As well large majority is Christian.

I am an American and I have nothing against Arabs. There is a fine line between stereotyping and having real facts.

i'm not so sure how you use the term 'nice' and NYC. I have been there a few times and it is dirty, gross and crowded. Same thing happens when I go into Boston. DC is prob the nicest city I have been to. It is so nice and clean and well thought out.

he maybe referring to the world wide web, ive noticed a lot of people seem to confuse the two Internet does not = World wide web

The internet was invented by the USA military, correct, and then Tim berners lee came along, and helped make the world wide web via the internet the internet was already here when tim helped create the world wide web, the world wide web could not work without the internet

It was a, several months ago, Friday and people were starting to realize how huge the financial crisis was. Everyone was freaking out, news were talking about the end of US as we know it, and stock market investors were starting to abandon the market and wanted to sell everything they have. I personally was freaking out, and actually started of plan B to leave the country with my family. Stock market was closed and all eyes were on the coming Monday.

I remember driving to work at 5:20 , almost 2 hours before the market opened. All what was playing on the radio, and news channels was people analyzing how bad things are going to become. Other analysts were expecting drops of 800 - 1000 points. Everything turned upside down 30 minutes before the stock market opened. Financial analysts, news stations and stock brockers started calming people down, and ecouraged people to keep what they have rather than sell. It was a very long day for everyone, but it finally passed with a loss of 300 points, much smaller loss that most people expected.

Thats an exmple of why this country stands up high when other countries fall. People here stand up together and help each other in times of crisis. In other countries, you are on your own.

There is no point explaining it to a troll with a Communist signature.

Pirate700

Let's not be disrespectful.

The U.S. may not be a great country for things like government benefits or healthcare, but it is a good place to do business. Our economy may be in the gutter (as most countries' are), but that's just a result of economic deregulation. We have a large amount of economic freedoms that look attractive to wealthy investors from other countries.

P.S., I'd personally rather live in a Western European country, but I'll have to stay in Oregon for now...

I think I would have been if I had lived 60+ years ago, but we have gone into a downward-spiral ever since then - Obesity, drugs, healthcare, education, murder, gangs, crime, etc.

Hahaha!

Oh wait you're serious...

:lol::lol::lol::lol:BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :lol::lol::lol::lol:

The USA is one of the most induvidualistic nations on earth. One look at our social welfare programs should be all you need to realize that. For example, every other developed nation has universal healthcare. The US does not because here most people have the opinion that "if you die because you didn't have health insurance it's own damn fault for being poor".

Canada and Europe blow us out of the water when it comes to standing together. Americans talk about uniting but in reality we adopt a "dog eat dog"/"every man for himself" philosophy for just about every aspect of our society.

"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good.

Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind.

And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

Guess the movie, win a prize!

Power. You might bash Americans for blind nationalism, but in all seriousness, nationalism in many cases fuels a country's strength and power.

The United States was not the first powerful nation in the world.. Furthermore it has little to do with nationalism but the fact of other key events and advantages that played in the US's favor.
