It is clearly stated that religious threads are not allowed, in other words the constitution is under that heading and the original poster knows that..

Corporatism: TARP to bail out the big corporations, the healthcare plan which mainly benefits the insurance companies, etc.
"socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor" fits well as well.

She has never been more needed than now[QUOTE="Warship_19"]A democratic republic. But as of late we are turning Socialist. T_P_OErm, you can still be a democratic republic and be socialistic in terms of economics. Though I'd disagree America is becoming "socialistic". Anyway, sorry TC, back to the topic. You miss understood, all I was saying is where putting in Socialist reforms such as Healthcare That I believe we don't need.
I was thinking a...democracy...?
Of the people, for the people and by the people or something like that...
You miss understood, all I was saying is where putting in Socialist reforms such as Healthcare That I believe we don't need.Warship_19Forcing more people to purchase services from private corporations of their choice is socialist how, exactly?

This, the main beneficiary of health care reform is the health insurance industry. No competition and around 30 to 40 million new customers, who if they can't completely cover the cost, the government will subsidize some portion.
Also last time I checked the means of production weren't controlled by the government even under most other western countries healthcare systems.

He may have been referring to the bill as a whole. (difficult for one to argue as a whole, I won't even attempt to justify that one...) However, one could argue that since the forced purchase of health insurance (individual mandate) was done to allow others such as those with pre-existing health conditions be able to purchase affordable health insurance policies, that it then bears a certain government coerced, wealth redistributive quality to it in a respect which seems similar to a socialized system. To call it outright socialist though, I would have to disagree. Personally though, I would find it more appropriate to call it corporatist. Not a fan of the policy itself, whatever label one tries to use to describe it...
