Wyoming

Shadow4020

California

Note: this is just my little section of the woods, not even a state park or anything

A view from a little highway going to Morro Bay and Cayucas, you can see Morro Rock out there in the water. It looks like this now

This is my town, 40k people in the summer, 65k when school is in session. See how pretty it looks, and thats a city, not just natural splendor

Mmmmm look at that overcast, storming beauty of ocean...you got that in Colorado or Wyoming? Dont think so

And this is a big 360 degree pic, but here is a good view of where I live

Please note that this is essentially all in a 20-square mile area, and there is a lot more where than comes from in California. Just google Tahoe or Death Valley or Sierras or whatever and looks at them purdy pictures.

California, 100%.

Awesome natural beauty
Cool cities (at least in Northern California...not a big fan of LA personally, but it has its charm too)
You can surf, ski, and hike in a single day if you wanted to.
Nice people
Diverse people, from all different backgrounds
Amazing Beer
Amazing Wine
Amazing Food
Lots of coastline
Epic surfing
Good hunting, hiking, and outdoorsy stuff

California really has it all, I cant imagine living anywhere else. The only bad thing is the economy and cost of living.

If you plan to visit, I recommend staying North of Santa Barbara, as that is sort of the cutoff point. Los Angeles has its nice stuff, but ultimately I personally do not like it because of all the concrete, people, pollution, etc.

Northern California is much more relaxed, cooler (temperature wise, I mean), has more natural beauty, and is in general just a nice place.

If you really want the best California has, I recommend visiting the Central Coast; San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Santa Barbara, Pismo, etc.

Pretty much this. I love CA. :D lol

It doesn't matter what the coolest state is, but I think we can all agree on what state sucks the most. Anyone that has had the displeasure of driving through Kansas should already know :P

See? This person knows! Question: Has anyone actually gone through Kansas because they needed something from Kansas? Or like everyone else in the world, were they just passing through?

Why is there no freakin' Minnesota!!!!!!! We gots, 1000 lakes, 100000000000 trees, 1000000 rivers, the longest river in Uhmerica, the biggest mall in Uhmerica, beautiful neighborhoods, nice urban and rural areas, you can fish, ice fish, play amazing sports, head up to Lake Superior and surf (if ya dare!), ski, snowboard, 18 to hit the casinos, honestly nothing to dislike.

larryb007

Minnesota is a pretty good state. I go there nearly everyday!

Minnesota all the way. we have Farve and a new kick ass baseball stadium

I may be literally five minutes away from Minnesota, but I am not a Vikings fan. :(

Really? I always thought the history, its relative importance to the U.S. markets, importance in the media and cinema, New York City, and, from what I hear, beautiful landscapes, architecture, and weather make the state a perfect candidate for coolness.

Terrible place to live. I say Colorado.

A simple "I disagree" would have worked, but no, it was not good enough for you. You demand more from your posting, and for that I commend you.

Go Big Red. Boo Buffs.

Reminds me a of "Real Men of Genius" voice over. "This one's for you Mr. Internet Forum One-Upper"

On a side note - where is the Minnesota love? 10,000 lakes. The Boundary Waters. Amazing Fishing....

If I had to pick one, one of the North Eastern states would get my vote, but in reality I don't like them all.

I grew up in the Buffalo suburbs. That city is very meh. Places like Syracuse and whatnot are also bland to me. OK I'll admit I have no idea how the rest of the state is aside from New York City. The nature where I was close to (within an hour radius) is alright. If I really wanted something more "cool" I'd go to Canada for the day. But hey if I wantred fantastic nature I'd go elsewhere than New York.

Good ol' Cali has everything. Deserts, Forests, Mountain ranges, glitz and glamour, and even seedy inner cities. We do know how to party. Not to mention San Francisco which is like its own country.

Obvious joke was used quite a few times early on and then seemed to die off.

I picked Delaware myself. This is why.

The correct answer is Colorado if your a normal person who's into nature and beauty and still likes society. I'm willing to admit (grudgingly) that Alaska MAY be better for a real mountain man who hates technology or people or whatever... yeah.. it's the only other state I want to go to.
