For some reason IE is criticized for not having alot of worthless features MF has, though it does have cool features alot of them are now in IE 7 yet Firefox is still praised.

It is just another internet connecter. It may have more or different features than explorer.

Websites can steal whatever you have on your clipboard using IE... IE doesn't have scriptblocker, so if you go onto a bad website, the website can use a script to reload the page over and over and duplicate the virus you can get. Firefox also uses adblock, so you don't get pop ups, and can block advertisements that you don't like to see...

At the time I downloaded Firefox, it was significantly more secure than IE. I've become so used to it now that I have no reason to go back, even if they have made it better since IE6. It's all a matter of personal preference.

That's not really IE's fault, you really shouldn't go on any websites that look suspicious (example 'free porn, naruto anime, kittys,')

Of course its IE's fault. Its their job to prevent security threats. If Mozilla can do it, I'm sure a company as huge as Microsoft could if they gave half a damn.

Actually, it can go to ANY site. All the webperson needs to do is place a script. I found out about the clipboard thing when I was StumblingUpon stuff. I copied a sentence, and there it read, my sentence I copied.

My mom actually wasn't careful...She was searching a phone number, and it lead to a website. Of course, she clicked on it and it refreshed four times, and duplicated a virus four times. The virus wasn't harmful, but I cannot get it off the computer. I went to the same website with Firefox, and nothing happend because I was blocking script, and I blocked advertisements.

IE just has more flaws, and has more secruity issues than Firefox.

I don't know, but my computer came packed with Mcafee, and it had this site advisor that told you which websites are good and bad, I don't know if it comes with all pcs packed with windows xp/vista.

You shouldn't depend on your internet to do anti-virus, because viruses can come form more than just Internet.

So my mom should use that stupid mcafee every time before clicking on a link using IE? Seems stupid when you can go where ever you please with Firefox...IE fails and will NEVER live up to Firefox or surpass Firefox. Although, the only thing web designers can do is direct you to a "No firefox site" where it explains that they want money, and they don't like Firefox blocking the ads.

Right now, that is being debated. There's more information here.

I think IE is plain stupid, so I use Firefox and IE Tab.

I've used Firefox for years now. Before IE7, FF had tons of things that IE didn't (like plugins) and it was more secure. That's why I changed. Now IE7 has reached the gap, but it doesn't have anything important that FF doesn't so I have no reason to change back.

I figured why it was faster. ^__^ Firefox loads the page as a whole while IE loads the advertisements first, then text, then everything else.

Firefox has support for themes whereas IE doesn't (though IE does base itself off your system's theme). It also has a wider range of add-ons than IE and a marginally better security record. However in regards to add-ons, all the popular/important firefox add-ons (like AdBlock) have IE counterparts. IE7Pro is a good IE add-on.

IE likes to mess with the W3.org standards, designing for it is hell and although IE7 got better it still sucks. Firefox has great CSS support, better user support and feedback, faster loading of websites and everything just looks the way designers wanted it to look.

I agree with that, the web pages I design are usually rather simplistic, and even then IE's usually the only one to mess up.

Well if your mom searched for things on google, than the site advisor shows a little icon next to the result and its either green(good) or red (bad), and no I don't think IE is plain stupid because it doesn't have ad blocker or spell check.

The dumbasses think it makes their internet work faster and prevents them from getting viruses so they can look at all teh pr0ns in teh high speed with no viruses!!11

The truth is, it doesn't speed your internet up or keep you from getting viruses. It has a few extra security features here and there that I'd never use anyway. My computer already has more effective security rendering FF's useless features even more useless.
