Yeah, I love Million Dollar Baby...and I agree with you about Mystic River. I wanted to like it, and there were some good intense parts...but I didn't enjoy it overall.

Yeah, I love Million Dollar Baby...and I agree with you about Mystic River. I wanted to like it, and there were some good intense parts...but I didn't enjoy it overall.

It's strange, Clint Eastwood has directed two or three masterpieces that I love to death, and made a whole lot of filler and Oscar pandering in between.

The worst movie I've seen is House of 9. It's a rip off of Saw II with none of the action...and I didn't particularly like Saw II. The movie (House of 9 now) is full of people sitting around looking bored. Nothing happens until the last ten minutes.

I watched it all. I thought it was stupid. to each his own.

For me its gotta be Once upon a time Mexico. That movie was so dumb and so terribly made, that I ended up watching only backgrounds. Seriously, actors were only stuff in front of places I wanted to see.

Blood Diamond

Technicaly a passable film but I thought it was disgusting. It made its argument about the horrors of the African Diamond trade and how terrible the killing of africans is by......Having Di Caprio run around w/ a machine gun rambo style slaughtering every african not to make an intelluctual statement but for entertainment.

Mulholland Dr. was more interested in emotions than themes. It's an examination of what happens to the psyche of someone who has lost everything, from their loved one to their dreams. That's why the first half is like a Hollywood noir and the second half is more realistic.

It's not famous because it was bad, by the way. It was famous because these filmmakers used basically NO MONEY to make the film and, in spite of the crappy acting, managed to create a terrifying atmosphere.
