i just got into benching about a week ago, i'm a beginner. I'm 19, 170 pounds, and i can bench 60 pounds 10-15 times in 1 rep. Is this bad? i know this isn't great and i'm working on it. I recently bought a bench press set in my basement. is this considered, average, good, or like horrible. Also, what is ur age weight and how much can you bench how many times?

15 5ft 7 130 pounds i dont really bench press but i can lift a good amount i cant really say cause i have a weight machine that i use but it does not have specific weight cause its diffrent for each thing cause of the pulleys but i use 7 of the 10 weights on it though

also its not bad i could only do like 4 but then i did it over the summer and got up to 7 and i think it just depends on the person i have a pretty good body for weight lifting i have a big chest and pretty thick bones

you are considered in pretty good shape when you can bench around as much as you weigh.

oh and im 22 6 ft. i weigh about 150 (skinny I know) and can bench 145.

also, TC, you should get an expierenced weightlifter to spot you and show you how to breathe and how to position yourself. you'lle be able to do more i gauruntee it.

Currently I'm 19, weigh about 165 pounds, and could probably bench around 150. I used to work out quite a bit, got up to 200 pound bench when I was at my best.

20, 165, bench 185 probably close to 20 times. I don't know what my max is though, I always end on doing 225 5 times. I started out freshmen year of high school and I can still remember how hard 90 pounds was! It's awesome to see yourself progress in lifting.

Indeed. When I started I could only rep 90lb about twice. I made big gains over summer, but haven't worked out steadily since school started :(

I'm 16 years-old.

My weight fluctuates between 140-150 lbs.

I think I can bench around 110-125 lbs.

well its a start, but 60lbs is not much to bench. however 15reps isnt bad. You could try upping it a little with fewer reps maybe. In my weights class (highschool years ago) the minimum to pass the class was a max at like 100% of your body weight (which isnt really that impressive even). At first its tough, but after you can bench like 95lbs with ease, then you'll see some gains (that's what i remember from highschool). you just gotta keep it up and try to work on increasing every other day or something. When i used to bench alot, i was 17, 155lbs and i would do quite a few reps at like 110lbs, my max was a whopping 155.... that was years ago though.

Some people only care about their max, but if you want to go for that use either a bench machine (sorta cheating and alot easier) OR get a person to spot you. You dont wanna hurt yourself like that guy at USC did. His hand slipped and he required an emergency surgery on his neck/throat. I am pretty sure he almost died cuz he was benching a LOT and didnt have a good spotter.

27 years old, weigh 175lbs, i can bench 385 for 1 rep and 225 for 20 reps.

i work out very consistently and eat very healthy. the trick to uping strength is to focus on weightlifting and do very minimal cardio.

60lbs ain't all that much. But keep working on it, and you'll get up there. I never have understood the obsession with benching though. I mean, I throw it in my work outs but make sure you work out the core to keep your posture, and back and shoulders to balance it out.
As for me, 18, 154lbs, 5'8", 180lbs 5x.
