Let's think it through logically. We know through historical proofs and historians that a popular man named Jesus of Nazareth did in fact exist. He was crucified, then the rest gets sketchy historically speaking.
Now we could say maybe he was just crazy. If he was crazy why did so many people follow him. He would have shown signs of being crazy and people would not have given up their lives to follow and believe in him.
Now we could say he was a liar. Why kind of person is a good enough liar to put on a 3 year ruse that ends in one of the most excruciating tortures, and deaths. would he have stood by his beliefs after all he had to go through.
So logically he was telling the truth, there is a small chance that one of the other things could have been a possibility but it's small.

It's all for the same reason. People are being told what they want to hear and it makes them feel better. Don't you think that David Koresh was crazy? He had quite a few followers. Don't you think that polygamist was crazy that was sent to prison a few years back? He had thousands of followers. People will believe anything if it's what they want to hear and makes them feel better. It's just the way some human minds are.
Also, people did think he was crazy, that's why he was crucified.
Well there has been historic evidence of him existing, the fact the dating system uses BC and AD should say something about that :P. Whether he did what they say he did or didn't is another thing, I don't think someone would have an entire book written about them if they were BSing everything they did.
Oh, you mean like a messiah complex? >_>If he was crazy why did so many people follow him? He would have shown signs of being crazy

On the other hand, it logically follows from the truth of Jesus that Islam must be false. So why are there so many Muslims?
Indeed, if Christianity is truth, everything else is false. So the beliefs of the majority of the worldare false?
If so, delete Jesus and insert the name of a similar leader of any other religion and apply your thought process from above.
Which illustrates that the logic you articulated is paperthin and flimsy.
So why do you not believe in Prophet muhammad?? I believe he existed. I don't believe the voices he heard were a message from God, however.[QUOTE="ferrari2001"]

So, do you believe that the king and queens of old were descendant of god? Do you believe that the pharaohs were also gods in the flesh of a human? I mean, they had monuments made for them.
A poll? Really?
Anyway I believe he was a great man and example which people can choose to follow or not follow. He saw the divinity and the connection to the universe in everybody and preached the value of humility as a means of salvation. Probably the wisest man to ever walk the earth.
Historically, his martyrdom gave birth to the Catholic church which shaped modern western morals and culture.
I can't imagine a world without Jesus.
There are many crazy people in the world even today that begin their own cults and attract followers to them who believe completely in what their leader preaches. As time goes on some of these cults may become stronger due to their original followers stretching of the truth or outright lying due to them manipulating themselves into believing it. Some of these leaders have even had a cult for years and, when the police came knocking on their door and their followers door, they ended up burning themselves and their followers to death.Let's think it through logically. The phaoraohs and kings weren't BSing thier feats . They exaggerated thier status as a human in the case of pharoahs and thier actions spoke as loud as thier words. I don't know which culture viewed kings as gods, maybe you could fill me in?
Oh, how convenient, I just blogged about this:http://www.gamespot.com/users/natedrummer95/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25719866&tag=all-about;blog1

I dont choose any of the poll options.
To me, he most probably existed, he was as delusional as any founder of a certain religion -that doesnt mean he set out to start a religion; pretty much like any other at that time he imagined a new idea for the supernatural (I wouldnt consider thinking he was the messiah as a disorder if you consider the time he lived) and preached his own ideas about morals etc -, and again he was as truthful as any religion founder.
Of course I dont rule out the possibility that he was the messiah but that what we have in the Bible is a heavily distorted version of what he taught.
His main message wasnt about being the son of god he said that was everyones birthright, his message was that no matter how good its intentions at the start all religions will eventually become corrupt and self serving and that god hears your prayers everywere and that churchs have no importance. He hoped to change the jewish faith and ended up being used to form new churchs with new ideas of corruption and self service twisting the ideals he taught
