What is your favorite alternative cursing word?

We a say things like F*ck and Sh*t once in a while but when around small childeren or a crowd people tend to find words to replace cussing and swearing.

What is your favorite?

Probably B!tch as in Bleach is the word I use the most only because my Mother use that word all the time when I was around growing up and I tend to use it when I'm playing a game heavy MP shooters. Bleach this, Bleach please.

i simply blurt out cusswords in the company of children without giving it a second thought

no kid has ever even flinched at me for doing so, it just goes with the flow of conversation at times, and i know i only cuss to underscore certain aspects so i'm not promoting excessive cussing to the kid at hand

its when their parents are within ear shot that i begin to moderate my language

If swearing isn't appropriate I just don't. Don't think I replace it with anything...maybe "bloody" every now and then.

Often times I just make up words. I do that when I hear songs too: "n'ilon nibr haspidrai isho'i an cuttai... o shudun dan aeglaidh" (lol, see if you guys can figure out what that song really is, hint: it's from 2012).

For a mexican there is no such thing as an alternate cussing word, "la chingada" is everything and anything you´ll need, verb, adverb, noun, etc. one to rule them all.

@korvus: actually I made a mistake, I remembered better a little while ago it was "n'ilon niban haspidrai isho'i an cuttai... o shudun dan aeglaidh". I'll break it down: n'ilon is a contratction of nen ilon ("we don't"), niban is even, haspidrai is have to try (I imagine haspidrai sounding German when pronounced), isho'i (pronounced ee-show-ee) is it's always, an is "a" cuttai (pronounced with a bit of a pause between the cut and the tai, kind of like in Semitic languages) is a contraction of cut (good) and tai (time), o shudun is I awake or I wake up dan is at and aeglaidh (the spelling is influence by J.R.R. Tolkien's Grey Elvish language - Sindarin, so the dh at the end should be pronounced as the soft th in "these").

I came up with the wording to fit the beat of the song as I heard it on the car radio, then refined it and derived structures from it later on in my mind.

@dylandr: While I think word replacement is silly ( there is no such thing as a bad word, intent is what's important ) my go to is "butts"

I suppose if I was to consciously tone things down in some way, it would be by using "friggin".

I don't like to curse, so I rarely curse. But sometimes I say, on my mind, mamaluk (can certainly vary on spelling). It comes from the movie Casino (love that movie). When younger I used to watch it on TNT and they needed to substitute motherfucker so then De Niro would say ma-ma-luk or something similar and it always stayed with me.

Not only it isn't a real curse word but I totally use it as intended, substituting a curse word for a none one. It is a natural fit. I have used it before in OT.

So watch out you mamaluks.

I have this terrible habit of not realising when there's children around me, and spewing a full-on rainbow of swears out of my mouth when they are. I then feel really bad for what I've exposed the poor child to...

Anyways most of my swearing is done in spanish and I can't say I have a favourite... depends on the season I guess :P

I usually either just don't use a swear word, or if it is a phrase, I'll skip the cuss word. It's usually at the end anyway...

Yeah same here, though I think I would at least try and respect my language whenever there's kids around me though. :P

I don't think I can think of alternatives very well, maybe frakkin or screwy, also not sure if arse is still actually a bad word or a good substitute.

@Toph_Girl250: Well when I'm in a puplic place I tone it down a little but not much.

I have a hell of a time censoring myself around kids as I'm around them so infrequently. Not a big fan of 'em myself. I can tolerate nieces and nephews, but otherwise I'd prefer not to be around kids.

I just don't swear around children, I've had a little sister for 7 years now so I've had enough practice in holding back :P

Was pretty hard cause I swear a lot. Everyone my age swears a lot, so it kind of crosses over to me.
