I like most of the stuff from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn(Pink Floyd) and a lot of Syd Barrett's stuff. That is probably my favorite psychedelic works. I like some other bands too, but I can't remember them at the moment because I really havent listened to much psychedelic rock lately.

Honestly, I feel The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is probably the best PF album besides wish you were here and animals.
By the way did you like the remake of pictures of matchstick men by camper van beethoven? Link

Interesting, The Scorpions doing psychedelia?
Then again, early Deep Purple sorta did:

Yeah their first two albums (Lonesome Crow - 1972 and Fly To The Rainbow - 1974) were psychedelic. They went hard rock all the way only after their third album In Trance in 1975.
Isnt "Child In Time" by Deep Purple also psychedelic?
Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They're going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town
Yeah!
Strange eyes fill strange rooms
Voices will signal their tired end
The hostess is grinning
Her guests sleep from sinning
Hear me talk of sin
And you know this is it
Yeah!
Strange days have found us
And through their strange hours
We linger alone
Bodies confused
Memories misused
As we run from the day
To a strange night of stone

Not sure, I'd have to ask sis, she was always more of a Deep Purple fan than me.

Nice to see the Doors, well assuming one can read those lyrics.
The 2 clas*ics that ended the first 2 albums are my fav Doors songs......The End and When the Musics over
but I digress on my own thread ;)

Strange Days has particular meaning to me. I can't talk about it here because of the ToS, but I know what 'Bodies confused, memories misused' feels like. Oh, the 90's...such strange days for me, indeed.
Sunhair by Ozric Tentacles.
I didn't hear about them until last year, but they have a lot of incredible stuff.
Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd It's so relaxing and the solo is just epic.morpheusnj
Is it really psychedelic though?
Then again, maybe one could call most anything from Pink Floyd psychedelic.....as much of it does send your mind on a journey.
I always said the album Animals couldmake you feel stoned without even using drugs ;).

I've always seen it referred to that Barrett's work with Floyd is psychedelic, while the rest without him was just prog rock.[QUOTE="AFBrat77"]

Windy was a perfect example of why the 60's were so great.
Even the Pop songs were outstanding. Windy was a big #1 hit sometime in the mid-60's.
Not sure if I'd call Windy psychedelic, but who cares? Great to hear it again. I was a 5 year-old kid in Kindergarten or thereabouts when Windy was played all the time on the radio, brings back alot of old memories.
Oh yeah, the other songs are great too! Thanks!
Here's 3 more great examples of fantastic Pop songs of the 60's, and boy I remember these as a kid also! :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5LtKwOD8GU
Happy Together by the Turtles (funny vid)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kn5RcHp-eyA
Crimson and Clover - Tommy James and the Shondells (much more to these lyrics then many people know)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCeD_6Y3GQc
Good Vibrations - Beach Boys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EegRh8Z4H-o
Aquarius/Let the sunshine In- 5th dimension (one of the all-time greatest hippie clas*ics)
All four of these were bigtime #1 hits in the 60's.
Excellent song, one of my favorites as well. Im excited to see a psychedelic thread, not many of those around... As for me...Here's mine from 1968:
