I'd like to see some professional coders hired, instead of the senior year high school AP programming students who coded this POS.
Edit: actually, I don't think they got as far as AP coding in highschool. It was probably the 'intro to BASIC' students who were reading a 'for dummies' book as they were desiging this.... thing.
I would only like to see a system implemented that warned us when our post(s) were reported, who handled the moderation, and there reason for it. clayron
what would be the point of that? what you're suggesting is a get out of jail free card. The moderation system in place warns you of violations and we escalate that based on how many time you violate that past that
What point would it be prudent to know which moderator handled the moderation, and do we really need a system in place to warn you when you go over the line?
I've said it before, we know the guidelines of GameSpot, adhere to it, and if you don't like it, post your thoughts somewhere else

LOL. On-Topic the Mods to lighten up a bit.:P
:P
I would like it to be possible for one to hurt another feeling without getting modded. Sometimes people need to be reminded of reality.

Whoa.I am not suggesting a get out of jail free card. How can you even say that? Knowing that we have been reported wouldn't change anything. Editing the post would be of no use since moderators can easily check the history of a post. The reason I say I would like to notified of who handled the moderation is so I could specifically address them in AtM and get their view of the moderation so that I may have a better understanding of certain things like "moderator discretion".
do we really need a system in place to warn you when you go over the line.solidrussThere is already a system for this. I am just saying that I would like to know when I was reported. Is that so much of an issue? Not by who or anything invasive like that. I would just like to know if and when one of my post was seen as inappropriate by another user.
Futhermore, who said I had any problem with the rules of OT or the forums in general. I think your last sentence is a bit out of line. You do not hear me complaining about the moderation system, and I do not believe any moderator has ever heard me complain about the way moderations are handled. Hell, when I receive a moderation I have never disputed it, at most I have asked for clarification so that I can make sure not to repeat the offense.
I simply stated what I would like to see as per the request of the TC.

No, we don't need another Youtube. One's enough.

The big problem with that is that it would make it more difficult for us to do our jobs in an unbiased way, especially when we need to moderate people who are our friends, or who are notorious for not taking moderations well. Also, I have no interest whatsoever in being bombarded with PMs from every user I moderate demanding explanations when the reason, more often than not, should have been completely clear to the user.
Trust me - if you were a moderator, you would not want to be on call 24/7, and you would not want to dread moderating 20 posts, knowing you'll be dealing with 15 angry PMs later that day.
