I haven't really listened to much, but I like some Anthrax and Slayer. I also like this one song by Testament.

If you like more Slayer and Anthrax than Testament, you haven't heard enough Testament.

You must never have listened to Drone Metal.... And I can't really explain why I like thrash...I just do:P i

ARE YOU HATING ON DRONE?!?

Just kidding. I don't care for much drone, but Sludge is just blech. I absolutely love funeral doom though, another very slow genre. I guess speed doesn't entirely equate to enjoyment in every instance. Drone is great for background music while doing something else, but it has to be almost minimalistic for me to enjoy it.

Ugh, drone can be decent for falling asleep to, but thats about it:P FUneral Doom is all right though.

Like most people said, its the easiest metal genre to get into.I listen to thrash when I want to listen to something heavy and complexwithout being overly deep and chaotic.

There is a lot of speed and intensity. It's fun to move around to and play thrash. Overall, it's some hard fun kick*** music. My condolences for your lack of taste.

after kill em all, metallica isn't even Really thrash, they are too slow to be thrash for the exception of a few songs like fight fire with fire, battery, damage inc, dyer's eve.. exc..

RTL can be considered thrash, a few songs on MOP, but id say metallica post KEA is groove /thrash, and AJFA is prog thrash... anyways.. too slow for real thrash

and to even quote Dave Mustaine .. kill em all should be called " slow em all" " its the mechanics, not that four horsemen slow sheit"

Yea the only song that can be considered thrash in AJFA would be Dyer's Eve and maybe Blackened. Their first four albums were still awesome regardless if they're thrash or not.

Panopticon is probably Isis' best, and definitely their most accessible, album. I'd recommend "the Gathering" for Testament.

testaments best album imo is 100% the legacy just saw them this friday, they were great, they played a couple songs off the formation of damnation , which im not the biggest fan of, but chuck B. used his regular vocal style on the songs, which made them better. they setlist was pretty good, i was hoping for the ritual, return to serenity and appocolyptic city, but whatever. they were way better than exodus, but nowhere near as good as KREATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lazarus AD is a great thrash revival band that also played, highly reccomend... then unearth was also there, a melodic metalcore ( lolcore ) band, me and benevolent bob had our middle fingers up after every song and kept yelling testament, many other people joined us.

I prefer Chuck's newer vocal style :( . It's more death-metally. Anyway TC, if you like Kreator, it might be worth giving Destruction and Sodom a shot.

i dont hate on the vocal style cuz its deathy, its just that i like chuck's normal voice, and that he dosnt pull the death voice off to well imo, it sounds like the most generic death metal vocals, while his normal voice was interesting and different. and by the way the concert went, seeing as he sang the damnation songs in a clean yelled vocal, im guessing the death metal voice was just an experiment on that album, which probly wont be done again. +1 on the sodom and destro reccomendation, i also reccomend some thrash revival bands - warbringer , Lazarus AD, and rumplestiltskin Grinder i have seen all 3 live and they are amazing, and thats saying a lot, since im extremely elitist, which most of you know... Evile is also great, Avenger of Blood are also pretty good, the vocalist sounds just like Mille Petrozza of Kreator from the terrible certanty / extreme agression era ( which is a lot of the appeal for me) their music is teutonic inspired definately, if i had to say a specific band itd be sodom more than kreator. solid band.

It has the best riffs, the singing you can understand and awesome solos. Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Metallica are some of the best bands to put out music. The music is usually very well written and the riffs are more memorable than death metal or hair metal or whatever.

Ugh. Make up your mind already!:P Metallica is awesome, let's just leave it at that.

except that on KEA james' balls were still in the process of dropping, but if you really to hear him sound like a girl, no life till leather / the other demo's... quite funny.

Despite being one of the biggest Metallica fans, I have yet to hear No life till' Leather. He did sound a little funny in the Cliff Em All videos when Dave was still with them.

Ironic, considering it's their anthem song they close every live set I've seen them do.

Already heard it a couple times. Have no opinion on it, really. I'm going out in a few minutes, but I'll give you more impressions later :P Also, I like Pantera quite a bit. They're considered Thrash?

Do you think that album sounds kind of punk, like an old school misfits album or something?
