The pricetag.

Don't fall for expensive jeans.

It really isn't worth the extra money.

Not always true, one big differance is that "some" cheap jeans are just that... CHEAP. I bought my son a pair of cheap jeans and within a few days found that the metal zipper wasn't even really metal at all but a plastic which broke. Took them back and got slightly more expensive jeans, they lasted less than two weeks before the material really started to wear. Not saying all cheap jeans are this cheap but I found out that some are the hard way.

Well, quality materials for one...Quality craftsmanship for another... Sure, some things are inflated with a "name" behind them but more likely than not you're getting what you pay for. You may be spending $10 on jeans but you may have to buy new pairs more often then if you just went with the better jeans.

$10 jeans are that price for a reason. Cause they are cheaply made. Prices go up depending on the quality of the denim, buttons, zipper and stitching. But don't get me wrong not all expensive jeans are worth their price either. Alot of the time the prices are inflated just cause of the brand and logo and the "hip" factor.

Generally you'll get much better quality materials for $30-40. Just don't go any higher than that whenever possible. Those $80-120 jeans are a rip off.

I buy what I like, I don't care if it costs 10$ or 50$, but if it's cheaper than it's better for my wallet.

Just buy from American Apparel then, or any other clothing manufacturer that doesn't import clothes from Pakistan / Mexico / China.

needled24-7

Not necessarily. It really depends on the jeans themselves.

Some are very decent quality, while others are more questionable.

And even if they don't last very long, you could buy three to five $10 pairs of jeans for the cost of one $30 to $50 pair.

From a cost/benefit standpoint, I would say it's a better deal.

TC is buying his $10 jeans from wal mart. they are not going to have any good pairs for $10, unless $10 is the clearance price and that's after being like 70% off.

Same, can't go wrong with Levi. There's a reason that's what almost everyone wears. Levi's have gotten thinner though over the past decade or so.

+1 for the Levis recommendation. Just go to a JC Penney or some other store that has them and spend the $35 on a pair or two that will last you many years. Plus they have dozens of styles, so you can probably find some that you like.

Exactly. There's a reason Levi's, by a mile, are the best selling jean in the world. They're the best jeans and at a decent price.

I have never seen jeans go for $10 let alone $30. The designs of cheaper jeans are usually not as fashionable as the more expensive designer brands.

$50 buck for a quality pair of jeans you don't have to be embarrassed to be seen in is a little more. There's a reason the other two brands are almost free.

I just looked on JCPenney's web site, and it says $40 for most of them. And for a pair of pants that you'll probably wear a couple of times/week for a couple of years, that is not a huge expenditure imo.

You're comparing the exact same pair of jeans at two different prices though. That's not what we're discussing.
