WARNING: This is seriously freaky. I'm getting shivers just thinking about it. I strongly recommend NOT reading it. The good news is that it's also the inspiration for one of the most F'd up characters I ever made.:D
This actually happened more than once to me. I was lying in my bed, all alone, middle of the night, trying to go to sleep. It was really dark, and completely silent. Then, I heard a voice in my head. It was bizarre because it wasn't a usual thought, I could practically hear it, very clearly, and it didn't feel like it was MY thought. It didn't feel like it was coming from me. It was a girl's voice, and it sounded very soft. The voice said, once again, very clearly: "Look at me..."
That kind of freaked me out. Three seconds later, I heard it again in my mind, "Look at me..." it sounded more agitated now, but it was oddly robotic, in a creepy way. Each word was kind of dragged out, if you know what I mean by that. Now I was really freaked out, I wanted this to stop, but it didn't, and it came again, even more agitated now, "Look at me...!" it seemed to be getting Po'd, and I really, really felt like, whoever it was, At this point, I was totally freaked out, and I thought I was ready for anything, but I really wasn't, because what happened next was just plain twisted.
I heard the voice, one last time, except it was completely different, now it was screaming at the top of its lungs, "LOOK AT ME!" I tossed and turned, and squirmed and I closed my eyes, hoping it would go away. When I did, I saw the freakiest thing ever. It was like a girl's face, but it looked like it was made of ash...but I saw it long enough to realize it wasn't. The skin was grey, and it was rotting. chunks of flesh were just falling off of it, the eyes were completely rotted out of their sockets and weren't even visible...the nose was two slits and the thing's face was disgustingly skinny with NO cheeks. I couldn't see the mouth, until the very last second, when it grinned at me. When I opened my eyes, it was gone. I turned the lights back on. I couldn't go to sleep for the next two hours, and I was terrified of blinking for the next ten minutes, because I didn't want to see it again.
I'm not making this up, either, I'm completely serious.
