i majority of teens these have parties every week, which isnt the problem. the problem is all these kids are doing at these parties is getting drunk, high and having sex. even as a teen myself i find this pretty disgusting. i was talking with some friends and 2 of them were talking about parties they went to and told stories about them getting **** from girls while the other guy taped it:? and how theyll be having sex and stuff while other people are in the room:?. it really sickens me to see teens act. thoughts?
Yeah, I get invited to parties, but I know they're only going to involve getting drunk and listening to rap. So I choose to just hang out with my friends. I'd rather have a chicken nugget eating contest at McDonald's and stay up playing cards than get drunk and not remember **** Then have to spend a whole day with a hangover..

Because its fun and cool. I'm a teen too. Also its up to the parents to raise there kids right and who the kid hangs out with makes a big impact as well.
Its the way things are, I do it more now though and I've been out of school for a year or two. It's fun and in most areas there are no other alternatives. As much as I like playing games I like when three or four girls come home with me on a friday night and I'm not about to complain.
Whats with the "these days"? Its allways been happening. Kids will allways rebel. The hippies in the 60's, the punk era of the 80's, and all sorts of stuff in between. It has allways happened, and will allways happen.
Society or should I say the media views those things as something cool or a way to be socially accepted. The adults who do that in reality are few and do it to help them get over their issues.
I wouldnt want to pick up a girl from a party like that, definetley not several, number one- its just a disgusting thing to do, Two- I don't like relationships like that, they are shallow and lack any true meaning Three- generally the sorts of girls at partys like that are moronic blonde bimbos.

It's Western society and the Media. It is corrupting kids. It's pretty sad and terrible to know that these kids will also have kids someday and they will turn out the same if not worse. I don't really know what's happing to American Society. 50 years ago if a kid did stuff like this their parent would kick their ass.. Thats the way parents need to start acting. They need to stop babying their kids and teach their kids right. If I ever did have kids they might think of me as an **** but they would turn out as respectable members of society. I'd be doing them a favor.

Meh, we play Rock Band a lot, then get bored. All I have is a Wii right now, but I plan on getting a 360 in a month. I'm stoked.

Yeah, I live in a small town and I have to say that the people that go to all the parties and do all the same stuff every weekend do it until they are 30 and then get crap jobs. Then they have kids that do they same thing. It's a vicious cycle. It's like they're afraid to leave Camden, or don't care about doing anything else.
I'm going to agree with you. I'm allergic to alcohol so I don't drink for obvious reasons, and I find it very difficult to hold conversations with some people. The first guy I talked to at uni basically went:
"You going out tonight?" "No." "Oh, so you went out yesterday?" "No." "...tomorrow?"
A lot of the people there seem to only be able to talk about how drunk they were last night, going out tonight, or how drunk they're going to be tomorrow. It annoys the living bejesus out of me. I'm all up for going out or to parties, but somewhere along the line someone's got "fun" mixed up with "blind stinking drunk".

i noticed this along time ago but i guess why its bothering me today is because while my friends were talking about their party lives one mentioned this girl used to like. said how the girl got drunk at this party and was all over him, making out with him and stuff. dont like the girl anymore but shes just so damn hot that inside hearing this really bothered me.
It's not just teenagers - most of the people I know in their mid 20s are obsessed with partying every weekend. Basically, if they aren't drunk out of their mind by 11pm every Friday night their life is a failure.

Yeah, I did that once and am never doing it again. It seems like a lot of people who don't drink (or don't drink often) assume that whenever people get drunk they get very wasted and forget what happened, as if there's no variation in how drunk you can get.
Believe it or not, getting drunk, getting high and getting with girls is enjoyable. For a while at least. Then you get these things called "responsiblities" and this other thing called "emotional maturity" and have to grow up.
tbh you might as well party as a teenager when you get the chance, it is literally your right to be irresponsoble and party hearty. At least you'll have experienced it, if you don't you'll regret it and it'll be a missed opportunity.

so that's what this is all about. some broad you had a crush on got drunk and started messing around with some guy. does the girl even know you like her? better yet, given the track record of OT, is she even aware of your existence?
I agree that partying and getting drunk should not be the highlight of one's life, but if you put in work for your future at school etc. and focus on maturing then you deserve to go out every couple of weekends and have a good time, meet random chicks etc. hell it is also a very interesting social situation to analyse and think on.
I go to parties some times, but when I drink I only get buzzed. Doesnt take long either, since i just skipped beer and went straight for the hard liquor. But yeah, i dont understand all that other stuff. The drugs and sex... But hey, if its what they want, they can go for it.

They think it's cool. There's alot of people like that where I live. What they don't realise is that it isn't "cool" in the slightest. I'm 19 and am proud to say I've never been drunk in my life. And I don't plan to. There's nothing funny or cool about getting so drunk you spend half the night puking and losing control of yourself. There also ain't nothing fun about one night stands and/or getting high.
I may sound old fashioned and boring to say all that but I don't care. Everyone knows I don't drink and smoke and my mates are fine with it. I'd rather be clean than shorten my life.
