whats with teenagers these days?

This is why I try and hold parties for all my nerdy friends to come over and play Halo and Smash Bros. or something like that.

I hate the hole some teens are digging themselves into, completely unaware of the consquences down the road...

They think it's cool. There's alot of people like that where I live. What they don't realise is that it isn't "cool" in the slightest. I'm 19 and am proud to say I've never been drunk in my life. And I don't plan to. There's nothing funny or cool about getting so drunk you spend half the night puking and losing control of yourself. There also ain't nothing fun about one night stands and/or getting high.

I may sound old fashioned and boring to say all that but I don't care. Everyone knows I don't drink and smoke and my mates are fine with it. I'd rather be clean than shorten my life.

All you people seem to have this false sense of virtue because you abstain from drinking. Alcohol in moderation won't lead to liver damage or brain damage. It's a social lubricant. So get off your damn high horses and go out and party.

Drink: once, I was experimenting and after all the puking and headaches I vowed never to get drunk again

Get high: No but many of my friends do

Sex: I really don't think this is that bad of an issue as long as you're ready for it but no I don't get it on with the slutty chicks at parties

Overall, I think many teens do these things but a good majority don't. Watch the movies Thirteen or Kids, they both give great depictions of the type of life that a lot of teens live nowadays, very disturbing but very real. I'm proud of myself, I'm a good boy:)

It seems to me that the majority of the students at my school do drugs/get drunk at parties on a regular basis. I'm too responsible to be grouped with them.k_smoove

Well, with inhibitions gone, it could be that way. People just need to know their limits and maintain self-control

life isnt about living a long life, you need to enjoy yourself. If you go to a wild party, you are not going to lose 5 years of your life anyway. you say that getting high, or drinking alcohol arent fun, but you've never tried it. you cant have a say in that.ski11buzz

I do know about drink and smoking. I've seen what it can do to people first hand. My Grandad died of lung cancer from smoking which is why I hate smoking so much and I've just simply never liked alcohol. I hate the taste of it.

When you tell people that you don't smoke or drink the majority will think you don't have a social life. I however do. I like going out with my mates and having a laugh but we do it mostly by talking and (especially in 6th Form) causing a little mischeif. Oh and going bowling which we went to almost every week.

It depends on who they hang out with and how their parents deal with them. But for the most part, it's mostly their hormones. They're young and don't know what they're doing. It's weird saying this while I'm a teen. Elviathan

This is nothing new. The last generation isn't much worse, and the generation before that, probably not much worse.

I go to parties and stuff, but I prefer not getting lumped in with the rest.

Im 15 and yea i could see where your coming from, although im going against myself here because on occasional parties i do get somewhat drunk and have sexual moments, but ive never gotten high. I think its just the way of being "cool" in todays world. Because like you were saying for guys sometimes its "who *** th hotter girl" and this and that, and you kinda made me realize that its just setting a bad image for ourselves but well never learn that unfortunatley and although i agree with your point 100%,,, well try telling that to all other teenagers around and see what they say about it :/. But also before i go, Not all teens are like this, its just that teens who do act more like tards show it more and it is so visible that people will think of how bad we are while there are millions of teens who are very mature.

I admit it, I've been dressing up as a teenager for years. I wanted to keep all of the hidden sex and drugs for myself. It worked too, until those kids came along in that hippie van of theirs. I don't know how those kids figured this one out... I mean it's not like you'd just see someone dress up as a teen to get sex and drugs every week.

I guess things first went wrong after after I started chasing those pesky kids around the mansion, our actions set to some feel-good soft rock. After that, it was only a matter of time before they dropped the chandelier on me, trapping me in my own web of lies.

Then that nerdy girl had to put everything together and figure out my true identity before even unmasking me. I tell you, I would've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for those pesky kids and that damn dog!
