Violence is much worse for kids imo. Sex is a natural thing, and they are bound to be exposed to it sometime
Violence is natural. Kill or be killed. Yea great example, since everyone in life kills or gets killed :| Great point. We shouldn't be encouraging kids to have sex before they mature -- it's already hard enough to resist.[QUOTE="Large_Soda"][QUOTE="psychobrew"] I don't know about you, but I can't remember a time when I wasn't powerfully attracted to an image of a naked women, and I have memmories dating back to a time when I was two years old. Sex is much harder to resist than violence is. Even very well rounded people who would never physically hurt someone can be tempted to cheat on their partner.psychobrew
Sex might be harder to resist for some people, just as violence is hard to resist for others. What's your point? Everyone can be tempted. I can be tempted into caving your head in with my boot heel, but I wouldn't, just the same as I wouldn't cheat on a girlfriend.
If it's easy for you to bash someone's head in, you have problems. Violence is not a natural instinct in a civilized society (it's usually a means to accomplish a goal more than anything else).I never said it was easy, I just said I could be tempted and violence is absolutely a natural instinct, as demonstrated by nearly every society ever.
Violence will always be around, kids can wait to learn about sex, seriously, kids should not be exposed to it that young.
I'm gonna say sex because I think kids know that the violence is not real. Then again, a lot of the violence is pretty graphic......I don't know - tough call....

Ummm... what?

It's been a long time since we watched people die like a sport event, and an even longer time since the days of the gladiators who were forced to fight to the death. If violence is an instinct, it's a much weaker one than sex is, but I think it's more likely the desire to grab the highest spot you can on the sociological ladder that's the instinct and violence is just the most convenient means to that end. Besides, it's good for a kid to get roughed up every once in a while.
these movies need to stop, they say its for the sake of art, you know what? I can draw a lop sided square on my butt with a crayon and call it art...thats basically what rob zombie does, and he gets paid for it >.>
sex > violence. If I were an alien, I'd want to come to earth and get laid by some hot brazillian girl. Right now alies wont come here in fear of us launching lukes at them for violating air space, I wouldnt want to visit a planet where the most powerful man on that world killed 5,000 or so people in a massive coverup blaming it on terrorists...would you? The world would be happier if everyone could get laid and sleep with anyone they want. Self confidence would be through the roof, life in gerneal would be better if you could get rid of STD >.>, sadly, the hippies were right

sex, cause I can live with my daughter seeing the Leprechaun kill someone compared to seeing Sharon Stone and Michael D. grinding each other in Basic Instinct.Lostboy1224
Yeah, something along these lines.
You guys have flawed opinions. Obviously it's sex, because then kids will want to go and have sex at like 12, not because they have urges, but because they think it's cool. And since they probably haven't been taught at that age yet, they'll forget important things like condums and end up having a baby in their early teens. So, sex.
Sex in movies never gets too graphic, so I choose Violence... I'm 24 but I got pissed watching Tropic Thunder at the theaters with people bringing their kids like 6-12 and they're all like "hahahahahahahahahahhahah he's licking his head, hahahahhjgahfgakhgfakfgkajflafga"
It's so annoying. But when there's a sex scene in a movie and kids are present in the theaters, they shut up, *childish giggle*, or just go "ooooooooh"
They haven't been properly taught about sex at age 12? There's your problem, not the movie. You guys have flawed opinions. I think sex is worse. Sure, it's great, but I'd much rather let my kids see a little bit of violence than seeing a person getting laid.
Violence, sex is a natural thing.People spaz about sex but seriously,it's not that big a deal.If it's such a bad thing than why do people do it?Scooter540
It's only viewed as a bad thing because people don't want their kids to see it, and then go do it.
Hard to say. A child can become desensitized to violence, ifs/he watches it too much, which is dangerous. On the other hand, watching sexual acts as a child could cause relationship issues later on in life, so I'd say they both have the potential to take away a bit of innocence from a child.
If were talking just seeing it once, like in one movie, I'd say it's pretty harmless.

Violence, because even if they know it isn't real, they become desensitized to it and that is dangerous.LindsosaurusOne could argue that it's dangerous for children, or people in general, to become desensitized to sex, as well. A child who was influenced by violence may grow up to be violent, but a kid who was influenced by sex may grow up to be a watermelon fetishist, or something.
I cant believe so many votes went to violence. Kids see so many violent things everyday. Whats wrong with you guys? I bet most of you saw some ****ed up stuff as a kid.

Same goes for sex. Just because its natural doesnt mean its ok.
Violence. Kids always discover sex sooner or later, but extreme violence can be really disturbing.Legend1315
And extreme sex cant?

No, it can't.Sex: A normal part of Human existence, something humans need to do for the species to survive.
Violence: Something most everyone wishes that we could eliminate, in the end it helps no one.
Hmm I wonder.
Violence. I would let them see rated R films around ten or so. I could care less if my kids were exposed to sexual footage in a film..

Sounds like a sport whereby you have sex on top of mountains :VYou are assuming that kids always do what they see...so seeing how we are making assumptions lets assume they also will go out and kill peopleif they see violence...hmmm, do we want our kids going out and having sex or killing. You guys have flawed opinions. I think the 'evolution leads to social Darwinism' people would win that easily :V[QUOTE="Rob0_Jesus"]Same goes for sex. Just because its natural doesnt mean its ok.MrPralineWhat? Sex is absolutely "ok".Like MrPraline said, of course its ok. :|
By deploying all the negative aspects you have done nothing more than prove that everything can have bad consequences and those consequences to do not determine whether or not said issue is ok or not. :|
