You guys have flawed opinions. Obviously it's sex, because then kids will want to go and have sex at like 12, not because they have urges, but because they think it's cool. And since they probably haven't been taught at that age yet, they'll forget important things like condums and end up having a baby in their early teens. So, sex.

We should have a competition for the best application of the slippery slope fallacy we have seen on the internet.

The contestants would be millions! -_-

I think the 'evolution leads to social Darwinism' people would win that easily :V

Seriously I just started a txt file and I'll record all the slippery slope fallacies I see.

The SSF chronicles have began... *appropriate music starts*

And doing that at an early age can lead to psychological and/or social disorders. munu9
Wait, how did you reach that conclusion?

I remember watching Watchmen in the movie theater sitting in front of a family. They were totally okay with all the bone snapping violence. But once Dr. Manhattan came out of shadows with his little prize, that family ran their butts out of there...

Supposing watching something on TV or at the movies leads to kids mimicking what they see.

Sex leads to a 12 year old having a baby, possibly dropping out of high school, prospects for college are dim, and the child will go through tons of failed relationships. For girls, guys won't be interested in taking care of a baby at a young age so they'llgo for quick sex and get out. Guys will likely repeat the same mistake over again. Either way, they likely won't understand what makes a relationship work and have emotional issues for the rest of their lives. The childeren will be forced to grow up in a dysfunctional family.

Violence leads a child to world domination.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have my child dominate the world than have to figure out how to take care of two kids by the age of 16.

If there was a neither button I would pick that, simply because I don't think seeing either will have any sort of awful effects on kids. That being said I wouldn't take a very young child to see a movie with to much of either. In our society sex if far too often made out to be disgraceful and wrong.

It's kind of hard to answer this question, when you think about it. What's defined as a kid, sex or even violence in any scenario varies. When you say 'violence', are you talking over glamorized, action movie violence or Saw III 'gore-gy' violence? When you say 'sex' are we talking about a little skin, full frontal or mimicking the acts of fornication? It all depends on the medium, the movie you choose to allow your kid to see. But, regardless of what they see, I'd do to them what my parents did to me: put things in perspective. In respects to violence, before and after the flick, just ask them what they saw, what they felt about the release and ensuring that they know that it's all entertainment; it's not real and definitely not the way one handles a situation. When it comes to sex, any general conversation about the topic should be able to put what they see in perspective.

I'm gonna say sex because I think kids know that the violence is not real. Then again, a lot of the violence is pretty graphic......I don't know - tough call....

The sex isn't real either. :| The problem is putting pressure on kids to be violent or to fornicate because 'it's the cool thing to do'.

They want to believe it's real though (and they all tell eachother it's real).
