Just out of curiosity. I'm betting most of GS will be something computer science, but maybe not :D?
Me; Double major in music/physics.

I got my middle school diploma back in '06, I majored in phys. ed. and recess, so I'm essentially qualified for just about nay job :o Seriously, I'm still too young, but I'll be going into the medical field, so chances are I may just very well need more than one degree.SetsaYeah that's cool. I considered medical, but physics is just so cool imo! Both are great fields though :)!
Ah nice! Where at? I'm guessing Stanford based on your icon =D. Check again, it's orange, not red.[QUOTE="Dark__Link"]I'm two years into an aerospace engineering degree.p00zer
Yeah that's cool. I considered medical, but physics is just so cool imo! Both are great fields though :)! We're opposites then :o I'm really good with anything related to chemistry, biology, and the arts, but when it comes to physics... I phail :( Which is actually really ironic because my city is a major engineering hub for the area....[QUOTE="Setsa"]I got my middle school diploma back in '06, I majored in phys. ed. and recess, so I'm essentially qualified for just about nay job :o Seriously, I'm still too young, but I'll be going into the medical field, so chances are I may just very well need more than one degree.p00zer

[QUOTE="Dante2710"]Math Major, and i be a junior _en1gma_you should check this if you like math ;) i could go into computer science seeing as how i have taken a few math classes required for the program, though i will prob settle for the minor on math science ill be getting once im done :P

Well even so, this is the best course related book I have ever possessed.. It's like learning every math course again in a new language. Well...it's fun and interesting as well. :)[QUOTE="_en1gma_"][QUOTE="Dante2710"]Math Major, and i be a junior Dante2710

what topic does it cover? i did enjoy discrete math, so i might take a look at this and how would you rate it? seeing as most math books written now are way to vague It covers * Sums * Recurrences * Integer functions * Elementary number theory * Binomial coefficients * Generating functions * Discrete probability * Asymptotic methods It's basically discrete math. I am only on chapter 3, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it and learning a lot and gaining a lot more respect for the art of mathematics. I already feel like my problem solving skills are several times better. :P I can't wait to finish it...but it is really challenging--especially trying to learn it on your own. So far it has been the best math book I have ever (partially)read..I would give it a 10/10 so far[QUOTE="_en1gma_"] Sweet! Well even so, this is the best course related book I have ever possessed.. I can see a few topics being helpful for some courses i still need to take There is about 500 pages of content, it's pretty dense. I have taken calculus through differential equations so far. I am taking prob and stats next semester. You will definitely appreciate this book even more since you have most likely taken more math courses than I have. :) and nice! I would definitely say this is worth it for just self-study and the sake of learning, and will definitely give you an edge

[QUOTE="_en1gma_"][QUOTE="Dante2710"] it helps alot, and dont make the same mistake i did this semester, i took discrete math with linear algebra in a 6 week semester, it was hell, and from what i have seen, most linear algebra books are pretty small and they skip alot of steps that will confuse you. Dante2710That sounds like it would be pretty rigorousjust hope you get a better teacher than i did, seeing as how my "teachers" arent really teachers, but researchers. Haha that's usually the case. Is it not a course you can learn on your own or?
