I dont think they will ever fall.  Some countries may become less influential, but that's the nature of things.  However, as long as they possess a good chunk of the world's population, I suspect they will always matter.  Lot of land and resources and lot of people.

Before anybody says something, having military bases in strategic places in the world doesn't make us an empire.

At this rate, i'd say a whimper. 

I dont think it will fall i just think its share of the world will drop off a lot as others out grow them.

I vote for dragging the rest of the world with it.
