Symbolic or not, there is nowhere that tells you what is literal and what isn't.[QUOTE="CptJSparrow"][QUOTE="dog64"]Many view those as symbolic. The horsemen mentioned in Revelation were different colors: White, Red, Black, and Pale. If you read the entire book of Revelation, it actually tells you what the horses stand for.dog64
Allow me to explain in my opinion. I'll go through the red and pale horse. Revelation 6:4 says:
Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword. (NIV)
This seems to be literal. It says the rider was given a large sword to take peace away from the earth. Well, is there peace on the earth today? Generally, no. We have crime and war. So, this red horse stands for war, violence, ect.
Now, Revelation 6:8 says:
I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (NIV)
This also seems to be literal. We see famine, plauges and illnesses, and killings by vicious animals. So, the pale horse stands for disease, food shortages, and the like. A good example of this is the Spanish Flu which killed over 20 million people after World War I. Another example is HIV and AIDS. So, you can see how this could be literal as well.
Those could easily be metaphors. EASILY.[QUOTE="MFaraz_Hayat"]t is not an "Arabic Bible" as you have termed it. I believe it to be the word of God. It does have stories which have been mentioned in the Bible as well but this is because : According to muslim belief Bible itself was word of God but later, due to mixing of human writings stands in corrupted form. Infact Quran is not only about stories, but rather presents an entire law system and commands of how to govern a state and one's life etc.dog64
Isn't it possible that it's the other way around, or maybe that the Quran is just a bible rip-off that takes some stories from the bible andthen changed a few other things from the bible? I find it interesting how Muslims believe that the bible was once the word of God, but now it's not. Most Christians believe that the Jews once had God's approval, but now they don't.
To answer the topic, God is in heaven if he indeed does exist. Heaven is located somewhere in outer space, but it's not in our galaxy. Heaven could be anywhere in vast outer space. My guess is that it's in the center.

You want proof of Quran's validity then launch a thread on this topic and I will provide proof. This thread is not about validity and authenticity of Quran.

If you ever read the Bible and if you ever read Greek Mythology. You will find that most of the stories from the Bible can be found in Greek Mythology. So in essence, The Bible is a ripped off version of Greek Mythology only changed to fit the Christian Religion. So its a joke.
I think I watched something on the history channel explaining the story of Noah in this context. It could also be used to re afirm that the events actually took place unless you would like to compare time tables regaurding said events. Also when speaking about God you automatically mentioned the Bible and not the Quran, what is to be said of the Quran?

I have been reading and studing the Quran and indeed sharing the same stories and people with the Bible was surprising to me at first. Have you read The Bible? It also does identify a law system and commands of how to govern one's life. The worlds three major beliefs (Christian, Islam, and Jewish) are more closly connected then I thought at first.
Thats is one reason, I choose not to believe in Religion.
I'm 24 now, I dont know how old you are and I've gotten more usefull information from you then anyone on these boards in a long time (besides when I learned about Red Steel 2 :) ) I felt I was very logical about it for a long time, I remember denounceing the Bible a lot more harshly then anyone has done here feeling like people were idiots just beliving in the ideas of the past and what has been passed down to them as an explination for the world. Now I'm a Christian, but why? I dont think that I had gotten any less informed, I have been trying to study what I can and faith is more then just what is read in the Bible. Mabye we're just looking at it wrong? If these are so simular including Greek Mythology Thank youSince he created time and space, he is not bound by it. Of course, all the anti-God people are gonna say "nothing can create time and space", but if your going to ask me a qestion about God within the peramaters that God, acording to the Bible is in, then I'm going to answer it that way. Besides, it's almost like a trick question, if your not willing to believe in a God out side of time and space, then dont bother those who do. But if your really seeking, then there are great resources in books and on the internet, but if your not, then dont bother us. Jhonie_Fklits25
Well, if God took 6 days to create the Earth, what other limitations does he have? :o

Well, if you read my avatar, I'm the clas$ of 2007 so that would make me 18. ;)
Have you ever played The Phone Game? Its a game normally played in a clas$room and you play it like this. The teacher (or whoever) tells a student something then that student tells the next and the next and the next till it gets to the very end. Then the last student tells the clas$ what he was told. Its ALWAYS so far off what was first said. In a way, thats how I feel about the Bible. It didn't even begin with the Bible but it is what we currently believe in (as a majority).
But this is my opinion on how the origins of God/Religion came into place. Way back then, we didn't communicate with each other worldwide as we do today, obviously. The Asians were in Asia, The Europeans were in Europe, Africans were in Africa and so on but even though these groups never met each other they lived similar lives. They all formed their own government, they all formed their own Religion, their own wars. That to me is very interesting how far away these groups were from each other but they still managed to think of this. This really shows how united we are (people) as a species.
We are always looking for answers and the thing is after all these years, thousands and thousands of years. We are still on square one. We just dont know. Our Ancestors, left us their findings and then it was changed and changed and changed to what we have today.
I believe that this generation right now, will be the first generation to step down from our parents standpoint and not believe anymore. As our technology gets stronger and our race grows more intelligent more and more people are starting to STOP believing in God and instead look for their own answers. What we have been told isn't good enough anymore and we are talking about it. Thats why there are so many religious topics. For those of us are lucky to get an education and read books, we are starting to understand more about our past and in the future. A few hundred years from now, we could be looked at as the ones who starting to think differently.
We could but we could not and I could just be wrong. Its hard to tell when your living in the moment but I am sensing a big change in our world. Whether it be good or bad, I cant wait to find out.

lmao because believing that a big explosion happened out of nowhere, and created everything is more logical. :roll:Yeah, you're right. Believing that a higher power poofed everything into existence, then created a man out of nothing, then a woman out of a rib is much more believable.
No...Science does not contradict the location of heaven. Is heaven in space? Well, it could be. Some say it is another dimension. Our knowledge of the universe, or what is outside of the universe is very VERY small...so...this thread does not puzzle the theological community....If he is in heaven then where is that?
It can't be in the clouds because they are just water.
So is heaven in space?
Another example that science and religion does not mix.

So that's like saying "I have proof, but I'm not telling it". In other words, just like Christians, you have no proof.
God is located all around us it connects with us binds us together it does, Its in the rock, the tree, the water. GOD = THE FORCE.
Okay but my personal belief is that God is located no where because God is the universe. In a sense we are located within God.

Ha! if you would have just opened your eyes, and looked for the recently opened thread on the matter .
Y'all know that something/someone must have created the two atoms from the Big Bang explosion, right? They couldn't have just been there, could they? So you do admit there's a higher "something" we humans cannot begin to understand, right?
So kids, stop wondering about God's existence or "physical" presence, don't you have chores to attend to?

Who says there was nothing before the Big Bang? Maybe no planets but who says there was Nothing?
