That, of all things, doesn't defeat God. In every scripture and every religion you care to name, God exists. It inhabits all. Yet It inhabits nothing, for God is infinite, and because God is infinite, It cannot exist within this universe without limiting Its own power to a scope which could exist within this universe.tycoonmike

No, the energy had to come from somewhere or had to be produced by unknown methods. If the big bang isn't part of an infinite cycle of events, then something before it had to be infinite. It isn't reasonable to automatically claim God as the answer to this, however.

Where is God located? Why, as a figment in that imaginative little mind of yours.

no after trillions upon billions of years of dust crahing together until it reached hydro-static equilibrium and formed planets... then terraforming began and then the first forms of life began on earth....

As far as im concerend that makes more sense than some big dude in the sky slappeda bit of mud and water together and then he just magicked the rest of the stuff there.....

I can see why the Big Bang theory is openly critiscized by people; but it is by far more rational than other proposals put forward...

No, problem.

If you ever read the Bible and if you ever read Greek Mythology. You will find that most of the stories from the Bible can be found in Greek Mythology. So in essence, The Bible is a ripped off version of Greek Mythology only changed to fit the Christian Religion. So its a joke.

Proof?

Sure thing buddy.

Here is an example,

I'm sure you know of Achilies right? Well if you don't here's the 411. He was a Greek hero who could only die by having his heel wounded. Isn't that strange? Now didn't I read this in the Bible somwhere???

Oh yes, I did. It was the prophecy of Christ in Genesis 3:15

"I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. "

Would you like more proof?

God is in people's mind. . . That's where he is and not anywhere else.

Does he exist? Only in people's imagination.

God... God is wherever we, as humans, put him. This is due to how we made God. We made all Gods. They are just a figment of our imagination. A source of virtue... and pain.

I don't see a God, nor do I feel a God. Also, I don't reason there isa God. Why would there have to be one? Even those that defend the existence of God because of the existence of the universe. They attest there must be a reason for everything. But how in any way does a God account for the universe. It doesn't. Not at all.

I like to see the world in probabilities. Is it probable that I will win the lottery tomorrow? No. Is it probably God exists, less than if he doesn't. Adding a "God" to explain existence does not simplify the world, it only mires it.

Formillenia we have used the notion of a God to answer things we were not able, at the time, to comprehend. Well, ignorance should fail, now that we have the empirical and theoretical wisdom to explain all. However, because of dogmatic religions and the notion that something must have created us millions will do little to advance our understanding of the cosmos.

That is what mostly frightens me of the notion of god...

where did this "dust" come from?

The "dust" consists of remnants of giant stars that went supernova. After their spectacular death, heavier than helium elements scattered all over the cosmos. This is the dust that formed our planet, formed all planets and a new generation of stars. This will continue for a time that seems infinite to us, be really is infinitely far from infinite... For trillions of years the universe will continue this cycle of death and life until eventually, nothing. Nothing at all. Due to our current increasing expansion, in time there will be nothing to light up the dark expanse.Expansion will continue indefinitely.

To peel back behind the big bang is purely conjecture. We can only imagine what occurred before Planck Time. Still though, I opt for this reasoned explanation over any religious counterpart.

Why does everything have to have a creator?

Caveman saw a fire pop up one day out of nowhere, the sun shinning and setting, the moon and the stars. Not being able to find any explaination caveman created the "Creator".

According to my belief, I think that God is a part of everyone, almost like an alter-ego of morality for people.

Hilarious.

Heaven is outside of space, of time. Heaven is pretty much an alternate univese, if you will.

What a contradiction. Looks like I was right.

If that is a contradiction, then explain how the concept of infinity exists within this universe without using the concept of infinity or a derivative of such within the definition. How can something infinitely large inhabit a limited scope of existance but by the definition of each and every single term within the infinity? That is how God inhabits all and nothing at the same time; while you are able to define the individual parts of the infinity, you can by no means define the infinity as a whole.

God, in my view, is more or less a mental state. I think if you try hard enough, by the time you die you may or may not be in tune with this mental state, i.e god.

I think god is nothing. No-thing. No-thing. I feel god is emptiness. blankness, infinity. as a insignificant human you are instantly repulsed by the idea of nothing, you are probably afraid of it. Nothing is unknown, unexplained, unbelievable. everything you know is something! that is why nothing, is the most holy and divine thing that ever could not exist.

The finite would be a part of the infinite, therefore it still inhabits all. Saying it inhabits nothing doesn't make sense. You can say that it inhabits everything, but also lies beyond the universe, however. Your concept of God relies on your assumption that nobody can comprehend it. You are right on one thing, however: God would be severely limited in its capabilities by creating the universe.
