im 23 and ive known whiteny houston's music my whole life. im listening to' I'm Your Baby Tonight' (European Version. the US version didn't due her justice) right now. i was in complete shock when i saw the headline she was dead. she had a pure voice. no autotune. just raw talent.
it is a shame we don't have any current singers who have a voice like that. and i don't understand how any music lover has never heard of her.

We still have our fair share of great singers out there. Whether they are on Whitney's level is arguable, but there is still plenty of talent out there.
Some examples:
Matt Bellamy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PN6egPgazA
Mikael Akerfeldt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tETiyedyML8
Howard Jones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A55P0FUkjj8&feature=related
Anyways, I am not a fan of Whitney's s t y l e of music but I'll be damned if I didn't respect her amazing amount of talent. It is sad she ended up wasting her life the way she did. She ruined everything with drugs including her ability to sing.
I can't help but feel like she is another fine example of why one should not do drugs...
