Since you're asking about the greatest of all time...

I think a great leader should be judged by more than what he does while living. For example, Ghengis Khan could have conquered the world, but after he died, his empire was a shadow of it's former self. Julius Caesar managed to unify Rome and it did fairly when until Commodus became ruler.

I would say Jesus. He sparked the change of the entire western world and the effects of his actions are still felt today. Regardless of whether or not you believe he was the son of God, his actions have affected billions of people. Though, not all actions inhis or God's nameare what I would call great.

President Obama A lot of people just don't seem to understand the fact that we are so lucky to have a man who has extremely rare attributes. He is both black and white. He is intelligent,compassionate and courageous. His integrity is second to none. You may choose to argue about his priorities. Should he have done jobs before healthcare? Should he have fought for more stimulus? but you can't argue with his intentions. Take a look at what he has accomplished in his first 2 years...

• Changed failing war strategy in Afghanistan
• Increased funding for national parks and forests in 2010, and plans to do it again for FY 2011
• Created and sustained 2.1 million jobs and stimulated the economy 3.5% [as of December 31, 2009] through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
• Enhanced earth mapping
• Empowered states that legalized medical marijuana to regulate themselves. Fourteen states have allowed some use of marijuana for medical purposes
• Strengthened theEndangered Species Act
• Provided the Department of Veterans Affairs the largest spending increase in 30 years to improve medical facilities and national cemeteries, and to assist states in acquiring or constructing state nursing homes and extended care facilities
• Announced theMaking Home Affordablehome refinancing plan
• Ended DADT

Many more has been accomplished... Hope is not instant and neither is change you need to believe and put forth your own effort.

Prophet Joseph [p.b.u.h]; his story is found in both the Qur'an and Hebrew Bible, but I trust the Qur'an's version more. He was abandoned by his brothers, sold into slavery, was unjustly put into prison and eventually became a ruler in Egypt. Years went by and his brothers apologized for all the hell they put him through, and not only did he forgive them, but he let them live with him (I imagine Joseph's palace was far better than the old shack they were used to).
