Ya know, after Lovely Bones and King Kong I may have to agree too. Aw man i loved those movies. This topic is locked from further discussion.
You have to cut Jackson some slack. I think he's just trying to find his footing after LoTR. Those films made people expect way too much of him.
I didn't like those either. :(You have to cut Jackson some slack. I think he's just trying to find his footing after LoTR. Those films made people expect way too much of him.

To be honest, Alfonso Cuaron was the last person I'd expect to see listed in this thread. Overrated, you know, any director considered to be good has at least a few memorable movie sunder his/her belt, so it's hard to think of any that revieve undeserving praise.Clint Eastwood
Quentin Tarantino
Alfonso Cuaron (don't hate me)sammyjenkis898

The movie wouldn't make sense if it was shorter.
James Cameron. Praised for Avatar, Titanic and Aliens... but everyone seems to forget about the massive turd that was True Lies. I personally haven't really liked any of his films besides the Alien films, and find his epic level praise to be mind-boggling and suffocating sometimes. He isn't brilliant... just a step above Michael Bay.
Quentin Tarantinojuden41Well at least you have to acknowledge the influence he has given to many young modern filmmakers. :)
Steven Spielberg kuraimenI'm not a fan of Spielberg, but I still believe that he is a great filmmaker. Even though his movies tend to be more commercial you got to admit that they are extremely well directed (except for some turds). :)

After The Terminal, War of the Worlds and the Indiana Jones film I just gave up on any future films from him, he just doesn't have a clue anymore.[QUOTE="kuraimen"] Steven Spielberg MrEnvelope
I don't think any movie director is over-rated, I've seen a lot of people get excited for movies because of the director but it's rare that you see someone try to defend that movie if it comes out and turns out to be crap. Like I love Robert Rodriguez but if Predators comes out and is crap I'm not going to defend it just because I like the director. Most people will agree that George Lucas hasn't had a great film since the original Star Wars trilogy.bobbetybob
Well Robert Rodriguez isn't directing Predators so you don't have to worry about that:P

He is just probably doing it for the cash. Just wait for Machete. Seriously Machete looks like a crime-blaxplotation-over-the-top-comedy-action-drama-gore film with Mexicans. I can't wait to see that one :)[QUOTE="bobbetybob"]I don't think any movie director is over-rated, I've seen a lot of people get excited for movies because of the director but it's rare that you see someone try to defend that movie if it comes out and turns out to be crap. Damn I always forget that, well he's producing it or something. Machete is a better example, how could I forget about that. That film just looks like typical Rodriguez, over the top fun, but if it turns out to be crap I'll admit it. Then find Rodriguez and beat him with a shoe for ruining such an epic idea.[QUOTE="MrEnvelope"][QUOTE="Rhazakna"] They are. I disliked the fact that he tried to implement those "deep" monologues and I really disliked those long Michael Caine speeches. Seriously every time he opened his mouth he gave a long speech about the psychology of Batman. One more thing, the running time was just ridiculous, way to long for so little plot. :
Uwe boll!imaps3fanboyYes, this! And James Cameron. His plots always suck and a lot of his stuff is really cheesy. However, i love miyazaki's films, somthing about the, is so emotional lol, they're the only films that make me get emoticional (still not that much though)
[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"]Two words: Lord and oftehRings :P. He's infallible in the nerd world now.Peter Jackson
how he does not share at least some of the criticism Michael Bay gets is beyond me.

Not any more

Everytime there is a thread which includes criticizing it turns into a hot topic!
People just love to be Critic'S!
As a matter of fact, so do i (sometimes) ;)

I need to add the fact that people are like: "OMG THE DARK KNIGHT BEST FILM EV4H!!!1! THE JOKER BEST CHARACTER EVAH!!!!" His performance was good, still prefer Jack Nicholson's. I know Heath Ledger is dead, fact is that his passing away made the film more hyped.
James Cameron has skill, i don't think he's overrated at all! How can someone of no talent make Avatar (3d) in which he made bilions! $$James Cameron and Michael Bay.
