I have been a victim of hidden racism, if you want me to exaggerate it. I work as a cashier and black middle-aged woman never trust me with their food or money.

But not all, but if it is anyone it is black women.

If you wanted me to put it more clearly I will do that for you. A person could disagree with the statement, "Christianity is not a race." The person could bring out good points like someone who is Jewish could mean they have Jewish blood in them or they believe in the Jewish religion. Is that gibberish, Ish?

Go to your history class, smack your teacher in the head, get them to teach you about how you changed the language, it's colour......

Correction, it WAS colour. Things change buddy. More people in the world spell color C-O-L-O-R. Get used to it.

me and my friends at school always make racist jokes at eachother, but it's never to hurt eachother or anything its just as a joke but its funny though cause almost every friend i have at school is a different race but for real racism,..i get that sometimes but not too often, but a funny time was this one kid, my age but weaker then me thoughti wouldn't do anything when he streched his eyes out to make fun of me cause im japanese and he also said "go shove a ninja sword up your ass" or something like that and he thought i would'nt do nothing cause usually i don't get angry at stuff but it wasn't a good day for me so i kneed him right in the face and he cried infront of like so much people and now he gets bullied and everyone calls him a puss or something like that and he's always been racist to asians and indian people and they used to never do anything about it and now theyre bullying him too haha and he use to be one of the 'cool' kids but now he doesn't have any friends haha so i kinda like when people are racist to me so i can just crush their facking feelings and make them losers haha

I don't know. I've sensed hostility from other people that may have arisen mostly from superficial characteristics like race, but I'd hesitate to assert that I've "experienced racism." Elraptor

Asimple yes would have done just fine. You don't have to pretend to be smart.

sorry to say this but racism will always be a part of civilization....it will always be around because man is not perfect...man will always want to feel superior to one another...racism allows this...i do not condone racism but i do acknowledge the truth about the subject

And your point is? Is that some sort of pseudo-excuse for racism? Murder will always be around too but no-one says things like "it's human nature" and "man is not perfect" in relation to it like someone always does with racism.

Dude, colour is how we spell it in Canada.

And also, Ive directly experienced racism. This one time I wouldn't lend a muslim girl in my class my cd player, not because she was muslim, but because I was using it, and making it very obvious that I was in fact using it. So when I wouldn't give it to her she called me white boy and left, and I chuckled.

You live in Ontario?

Sorry for the delayed response, but yes, I do live in Ontario.

I have, at my school is real hispanic and black, there might be a white guy or two there, but its real uncommon. Even though I myself am half hispanic, I'm real white complected and I over hear people calling me cracker boy and white boy and stuff. Its a bit ignorant, cuz there will be these little mexican girls that get my attention by calling out, "Hey white boy!" I'm bunches of feet taller and older than them and they call me boy? That was derogative back in the day to black people when they were called boy.

dude, i dont feel like arguing over whether a kid(that neither has seen btw) is looking at him like he is tired or looking at him like he hates black people(if that even has a look). so go ahead, let him feel like a martyr for being looked at funny. hes a real martin luther king jr.

Several times. Mostly when I was younger though. (I'm Asian by the way) The one instance that stands out in my mind the most is when I was about 16. My family and I went on a road trip to the US and my best friend came with us (he's Asian as well). Wedecided to stopin Georgia to get a motel. My friend and I decided to do some exploring because we were bored so we just went for a stroll down the street. We were just walking and talking. Within a few minutes there was a police cruiser slowly following us on the street. Eventually the cop pulled up next to us and asked us what we were doing. We replied that we had just checked into a motel and decided to go for a walk. He then told us that he didn't think it was a very good idea for "you people" to be walking around and told us to go back inside the motel and stay there.

This was a pretty jarring experience because I'm from Toronto which is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. You see everyone from everywhere here. On some days it seems as though whites are the minority here. But suddenly in Georgia, my friend and I were treated like aliens and stuck out like a sore thumb. I'm not saying all of America is like this. I have been all over the States and there are several cities as diverse and multicultural as Toronto, but the ones that aren't...REALLY aren't.

megagene

Wow...its sad that you think a policeman was racist for saying "you people" in fricking Georgia! Did it ever occue to you that he ment you people meaning there is more than one person there for "you people should nto be wlaking around here cause it might get dangerous by yourselves..!! omg..

When I was marking down stuff to register for college aid, I accidentally marked one of the minority boxes. I thought that this would be an interesting idea for a sociology report, so I mailed it in, and mailed in another with the right information. The one with the minority checked off got so much more from that college than the right one did, I considered contacting the college about it.

I got to thinking about it, though, and found that organizations like the NAACP, while advocating black rights, do so at the expense of white folk. How is it right for me to have to pay more for my college education than some black kid, with similar abilities, simply because I'm white?

Well acually colleges have to escept a certain amount of people of other races every year so its not like they are being unfair they are just following the rules.

I was jumped by a group of minorities (not gunna say which so I dont get flammed or start flamming) and ever since then I've been subconciously nervous and maycross the street or put myhands in the pocket withmy wallet oreven go in anear-by storewhen I see a group of 3 or more of those minorities.

So I guess technincally I'm racist on a VERY minor level, and I don't actually mean too.

PS I didn't get seriously hurt.

I think any white person who has ever seen a black stand up comedian has had racism towards them.lilburtonboy748

Most of the good black comedians who make race jokes, just poke fun of stereotypes of every race including their own. And if that seriously offends you then you should turn off the TV.

Thats understandable at least you are trying not to view that certain race of people as bad, unlike some people who will just hate them all.

This is what I was trying to say in earlier. When people go around beating people up they help spread the hatred. It's completely understandable that a bad experience in the past can make you feel that way.

[QUOTE="Anamosa41"][QUOTE="comissario"]who here has experienced racism? i don't care if you're black, white, asian or whatever. i personally have but in a really hidden way. i study in an international school and there's this australan kid who i can see doesn't like me because of my colour but i can't tell because he never insulted me in front of me or said anything racist to me. by the way i'm african.Anamosa41

If being a Christian counts, yes. I experienced it just the other day here on GS. The user was banned.

Christianity isn't a race.

A person could argue that. I wouldn't count it as a race though.

A person could not argue that. If he did, technically he would just be speaking gibberish.

If you wanted me to put it more clearly I will do that for you. A person could disagree with the statement, "Christianity is not a race." The person could bring out good points like someone who is Jewish could mean they have Jewish blood in them or they believe in the Jewish religion. Is that gibberish, Ish?

Yes, because being Jewish is not a race.

It might not be that its the race. Do you do that around anyone who looks like them (I am assuming thuggisg aka "gangsta/ghetto")?

Yes they looked thuggish. No I don't look thuggish. I was several years younger than all of them. I did nothing just walk by. I don't really understand your post.

Indirectly and probably unintentional almost everyday, but a few times, jerks call out racial slurs. The worst was in California when my family got in a taxi and got kicked out right when we spoke Mandarin Chinese.StephenHu

what? that seems like it's not true.

Here in Greece, prejudice is an issue, but outright racism? Nah.
