In fact he said you don't have to do so. He's just tired of people MINDLESSLY bashing.[QUOTE="bman784"]You mean people that aren't mindlessly devoted to vapid nationalism and criticize their country's decisions in the hopes of improving it? Those are called good Americans.bman784
He never made any mention to "mindless" criticism. I'm annoyed when people cirticize other people for being critical of their country, when being critical of your country is the only thing you can to to improve it. Especially when the country is as messed up as it is right now. I'm much more bothered by the people that are perfectly fine with everything that's going on than those who have problems with it.
he didn't say you can't be critical.
"un-American American" is the archetypal criticism that nationalists use to c.lassify all people who disagree with the country.
key word :archetypal. that goes hand in hand with stereotype in the context you used it.
Again, if you continued reading the thread, you would know the people he was specifying. He was not targeting liberals like yourself, so no need to get upset
His second post was a much more reasonable assertion, but I don't agree at all with the use of the term "un-American" to describe people who disagree with their country. This has nothing to do with me being liberal, I'm just arguing with the core assertion.
Okay, I see where your coming from. But I didn't take him saying un-American as anyone who disagrees with American policies. anyways I have to go to sleep for tonight. Mom is *****ing xD
