I think you actually watch the video as it provides real sources, from historians and offers arguments Jesus's historicity. But hey, whatever.

Are you sure they're 100% legit historians, or are they just saying that, so people wont give them flak?

I'm sure they're not lying or misusing information.

he didnt defend himself because he was acting out of nobility, myself for everyone elses forgiveness.

K i know you got that from the bible and I'm not going to get in a debate of whether or not the bible is an accurate historical document. However, if you read up on Pilate you'll find that he was an extremely cruel man and nowhere is it written in history, besides the bible, that he ever gave a crowd the choice to release prisoners. Pilate also was not a fan of the Jewish influence and very rarely interacted with the religious leaders of the time. Just throwing that out there

bigdrew172

Now this man seems a little more educated cause I heard from another intelligent man that this is infact the case. Jesus' death was completely in the hands of pilate or Rome. The jews probably did want him dead, but Pilate never cared what they thought. In the bible it says the jews had some say, but that is very biased and understandable why it was said in the christian bible.

[QUOTE="battlefront23"]Pilate did not want the Jews to have a rebellion; he appeased them by releasing Barrabus and crucifying Jesus. The Jews have paid for it ever since.efrucht

When Judaism is dead and gone I wonder who will become the world's new scape goats...

"the liberals did it!"

The Jews said let Jesus' blood be on them and their children.

What does that mean? Does that mean "blame us?" or does it mean something else. Really, I don't know the context of the quote, so please explain more.

Jesus didn't do anything wrong; Pilate knew it. But in an attempt to appease Pilate that he wouldn't be responsible for Jesus' death, the Jewish leaders said that. IMO I think that is why the Jews have suffered through so much stuff.

Jesus doesn't strike me as the revengeful type :?

The Jews brought this on themselves, not Jesus. He just stood there and didn't reply much to what Pilate said except when Pilate called Him in for a talk in private, even then, He didn't really try to defend Himself.

Who exactly is paying back teh jews for this transgression?.... Christians that chose to blatantly ignore Jesus's own teachings for their own personal gains.

Jesus does not approve of Jew-hating, that much is certain. He is a morally perfect individual and I will not accept that he had a hand in the poor treatment of the Jews post-Crucifixion.

This is why I do not question Christianity, I believe it is pure. Instead, I question the majority of it's fake followers that see it as a free ticket to getting away with sin.

This has NOTHING to do with Jesus. It has to do with what the Jews brought on themselves. That's what I've meant this whole time.

It's nothing to do with Jesus desiring revenge...

No. So why would the Jews get so much suffering for their decision even though Christ Himself forgave them?

No, I think the suffering of the Jews comes from God's favoring them.

They said let His blood be on our children. They themselves, not Jesus. Either way, was Jesus referring to Jews on a whole or just the ones at his crucifix who were mocking Him?

I think that, and also what you posted, are why the Jews are hated.

My question is simply: why. Who is punishing them, and on what grounds, what charge? God controls everything, and if the Jews are getting bad treatment because of their betrayal, then that means our god is revengeful. If you said that the jews would have been treated poorly regardless of what happened to Jesus, then our god wouldn't be a malevolent god.

Jesus was sentenced to death on Passover (If I'm not mistaken). It was a tradition on that day to let one prisoner free. The priests bribed the Jewish people to vote for Barabbas' freedom.

It's not like they knew he was the son of god. we shouldn't assume that it was obvious to them. We weren't around then, we didn't know how spiritually sensitive one had to be to sense what Jesus actually was. Perhaps only his closest followers could see what he really was. If that is the case, can you blame the jews for not believing him?

I read that he did things that made the councils mad, like helping beggars and sick people when there were rules to not help them and mock them wherever they go. There was a blind man who wasn't healed by any of the respected council-people, so they all said that he couldn't be healed, then Jesus went and healed his sight.

He just went and helped them, so they were mad about it. I guess because they were afraid they'd lose their power over people.

To be honest I really don't know. But why else would that passage be there. God gave them what they themselves said; it had nothing to do with Him being full of vengeance.

Lots of people blame the Jews for Jesus' death. The Jews did kill him after all but I am, by no means, saying that we should kill the Jews. It's just my interpretation of why the Jews are persecuted, which may be wrong. That and also what Theo posted.

I have to go to bed, so I'll just take the shortcut answer to this discussion with Foxhound:

Suicide is a sin because the human body does not belong to that human, but to God. So destroying what God gave you is a way of spitting in His face.

But since Jesus was God, you could view it as His body. Whether or not you're a Libertarian who believes it is morally acceptable for a person to take his own life is another matter, but if you are, then what Christ did was not a sin at all, even if it did count as suicide.

Good night.

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]God kills everyone who exists on the Earth...Shad0ki11

Verse?

The Flood (not including noah and wife)?

No, since he said "kills" in the present tense, and the Flood, if it happened, happened thousands of years ago.

Why request a Bible verse then?

Because he made a statement about God, which I would expect to find in the Bible. If there was a verse that said "God kills everyone," then that would apply to modern day as well.

So you actually expected him to post a verse that says "God kills everyone"?

Hypothetically, what if such a verse existed? What would your reaction be?

That would be quite blunt for a bible verse

Don't watch it for all I care, but don't give me any crap about Jesus not existing untill you've gone over all the evidence and proved that Jesus most likely did not exist.

There is no evidence:| I don't even think the person on Youtube is even a historian. If I told you science disproves god, and showed you a Youtube link, would you believe me? Of course not(Hopefully you wouldnt).

Well what does that verse mean to you then? The Jewish spiritual leaders were pretty much representatives of the people anyway.

Theokhoth

It means a bunch of sad, stupid people made a sad, stupid mistake. . . 2,000 years ago.

Many of the Jews followed Christ. Were the Pharisees representatives of them as well?

No. But I believe the mistake of a few Jews affected all Jews. I just take it as it's said; how else would it be taken anyway?

I would do the honour of watching it and judge for myself. And there the film deals with historical evidence provided by ancient historians.

It just pains me to know that people are charged for the crimes of their fathers. It really makes me doubt religion's benefits on mankind, but that is a debate for a different thread. ;)

I would blame that generation for their mistakes, not the modern for something they haven't done.
