Don't watch it for all I care, but don't give me any crap about Jesus not existing untill you've gone over all the evidence and proved that Jesus most likely did not exist.

There is no evidence:| I don't even think the person on Youtube is even a historian. If I told you science disproves god, and showed you a Youtube link, would you believe me? Of course not(Hopefully you wouldnt).

I would do the honour of watching it and judge for myself. And there the film deals with historical evidence provided by ancient historians.

I didn't see any "proof". I only saw assumptions, by a fake historian on Youtube.

That passage would refute my claim IF the Jewish leaders simply stated let His blood be on us. But they also said our children. It has nothing to do with how they our viewed by God but how they are viewed by man.

Their are countless written accounts mentioning Jesus during that time period, if you really want proof why dont you go do some research?

Why would SO MANY of them lie? Did you see all the historians that Theo posted? In fact for many of them it would've been more convenient if they actually stated He didn't exist.

Harod (Or maybe Hared?) was the Jewish leader who heard rumors about Jesus being the king of the Jews. He tried and failed to kill Him.

I did not have a chance to read any of the responses but the Jews wanted to kill Jesus for blasphemy - he claimed to be God (to claim to be the Son of God was a claim to be equal to God as the Jews understood it. Read Psalms 2).

The Jews were able to have Pilate execute Jesus because if they didn't there would be great civil disorder. Pilate's job was to maintain civil order and in order to keep his position he had to do whatever necessary to keep that order. He basically didn't want a riot on his hands.

I suppose Pilate's motive in doing what the Pharisees said could be debated but the fact he did what they said is less debated.

I find it interesting that the only time Pilate is ever mentioned in Roman records is in reference to Jesus' execution...

A lot of people seem to believe that the Jews had a lot of say and influence on Rome and Pilate to put jesus to death, but if history of jews has taught me anything, its that their voice was rarely ever listened to.

so please someone clarify, why did rome/pilate want jesus dead? what did he do? did the jews have any influence on the sentencing of jesus?

I blame human beings in general, we will look for any excuse to take what is not ours, be it property or life. To see a religion used as a justification for violence is both depressing and sickening.

He speaks the truth! This thread is nothing but dead-end arguments and bickering. With religion, no lines can be drawn, and no facts can be derived. In matters of faith: debate, as a logical tool, is useless.

What is there to sigh about? I don't see any facts, but a bunch of fake historians saying Jesus was real.Vilot_Hero

Ironic. You're falsely accusing historians of being false.

Historians can be incorrect:| Not everything they say is true. Have you seen Training Day? It's not what you know. It's what you can prove.

Then you will aggree that its up to you to prove these well respected historians wrong, with another reason than simply "guessing" they're wrong.

So are more GameSpot posters.

A few posters here seem more intelligent than historians. Domatron is one I can think of, and so is Biggest_Loser.

I think domatron is very intelligent, but to say that he's intelligent than most historians I would say is an overstatement. I haven't heard of biggest_loser.

Edit: Nevermind, I just noticed he's on my friends list. :?

Domatron isn't brainwashed by the history of jesus, so that makes his opinions valid.Vilot_Hero

Brainwashed or well versed? Domatron has only read the first few pages of Genesis.

I can't recall Domatron ever mentioning the History of Jesus.

Edit: except his thread on the descendants from Adam to Jesus, and that isn't even the main point of it, as I recall.
