[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]Couldn't get more incremental. [QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]Nope. Overpriced Apple products hold no appeal.lonewolf604Considering a lot of android tablets are around the same price I wouldn't say the iPad is overpriced. In some ways its better than android tablets. Does this mean, instead, that it is all tablets which are overpriced? iPad 3 is still very expensive for what it is.
My PC does everything iPad and I already own it.
It's just a dumb fad for hipsters and people with more money than brains.
Already preordered one.
It will be my first tablet. I've wanted one for quite some time but I knew that the 3rd gen iPad was coming out so I figured I would just wait. Glad I did.
It's going to replace my aging laptop that I only use for e-mail and web browsing. Tablets are a great replacement for that kind of stuff.
First-gen iPad is still going strong for me. Probably wait another year, and get an iMac this year after Ivy Bridge drops. Hopefully that means retina display 27" iMac screens.musicalmacthe iMac? You must have a lot of money to kick around.....
the iMac? You must have a lot of money to kick around.....BossPersonIt's not ougrageously expensive if you look at the fact that you're getting a drool-worthy 27" LED display attached to a powerful computer. For the work I do at home with music production, photography, and video, it's a God-sent. Hasn't the price thing kind of passed it's point of relevance?

You said it though. But, how many people buy a $1500-$2000 Mac for work? Not everyone, hence why lots of people come with the price argument. The way I see it if you need it buy it if you don't get a $500 laptop and get on with your life.

I think the people who fall into this kind of overhyped products are very dumb and should not be allowed to reproduce.kuraimenYou do bring the irony.....
Depends on your needs, financial means, and motivations. The real reason the price argument doens't matter, is because Apple sells just about every peice of hardware they create. Shelves do not sit full of Apple things, they are emptied. People are buying products at the prices Apple is setting. That's just simple economics. You said it though. DeadMan1290
It runs on Mac? Or you're just gonna run it on dual boot?BossPerson...Diablo 3 runs on Macs, just like Diablo 1 and 2 before it. As well as Starcraft 1 and 2, and every other Blizzard game. Blizzard releases all their titles simultaneously for both major platforms. The same is true of Valve. Most of EA's big-selling releases are also available on Apple's machines.

Blizzard games support OSX. They always have. That contributes to their great success in the PC industry. They support all of the platforms they can.
I could never justify the price of iPad when I have a smart phone and a laptop. If someone gave it to me I wouldn't be mad, but never buy one.
Another48hoursNo need for one. Bought a new phone awhile ago, and ny laptop is 100000x better than any iPad/tablet.
If someone gave one to me, I would sell it in a heartbeat. I have an iPod Touch, so I don't need a bigger one lol.I could never justify the price of iPad when I have a smart phone and a laptop. If someone gave it to me I wouldn't be mad, but never buy one.

I have never bought an Apple product, each year I just keep telling myself "I'll get the next one that comes out after this new one" and then it never happens.
A combination and overall sum of 10 points in my newely produced 'The Purchase or Not iPad Checklist' will need to happen for me to absoloutely get one.
1. = 3 Points At this point I'm definitely waiting until they release a next gen version of their current A5X chips because I will feel so behind if I bought this one and next years model has an A6.
2. = 10 points It will probably need buttons (suitable for gaming), this here is the killer app and if they get this on it or a peripheral I will go and purchase one as quick as I can.
3. = 2 point 3D, I know people hate on the tech but it is still seemingly like a thing which will just become a natural feature in all our displays so I might as well future proof it.
4. = 2 point Siri, I guess that it's still not exactly in this version.
5. = 3 points. Open source in any respect, at least 30% more open than it is right now .... which for where it is, is currently 0%.
6. = 4 points Blu-Ray drive. This is almost ludicrous because it will probably make this thing huge (with the current tech) and it currently doesn't even appear in their computer lines but I'm a avid film lover and love watching them in high quality, this would be huge for me.
7. = 2 points. Make it a phone. Using my earphone and it's mic it could essentially be a phone like the iPhone which would be terrific, and I wouldn't need to buy an iPhone and I would have a great tablet that is also a phone instead.
8. = 1 points. Get rid of iTunes or drastically overhaal it to make it as simple and as compatible as windows to windows.
9. = 1 points. If it were essentially a portable television where I could play my Xbox 360 by simply connecting my HDMI to it.
10. = 2 points. Stupid things like Flash not being there, being forced to use their apps like Safari and it working so odd on pages in certain circumstances where windows laptops would deal with them fine.
11. = 3 points. Not being as efficient as laptops or computers with stuff like having to open and then close apps just to access the other one. Fix that and it would be a huge plus.
I just ordered one. I don't currently own a tablet and had been planning on getting one.
The main reason I went with an iPad over an Android tablet is that iOS is where most app development is focused at the moment. I also prefer the iPad screen's aspect ratio.
do they like release new iPads and iPhones every few months with very little additions on it? (thats what it seems to me anyway)
