I'm from Scandinavia and here everyone takes their shoes off, but in movies and on youtube people usually got their shoes on and it's almost always Americans? What's up with that.
Aren't people scared to get **** on the rug?

We're not comfortable with feet. Also, stop watching movies and YouTube if that's where you get your source of information.CRS98just something that caught my eye.
im american and my shoes are always off when i'm at home not doing anything.themagicbum9720
It varies based on the household. Most of the time my shoes come off within two minutes of coming home unless I'm exercising (not going to run on the treadmill or do Insanity with bare feet) or just running in and out of the house. I have several friends who do the same.
Counter-productive? The same logic would apply to not washing your hands.Because we're so busy doing important tasks, always running in and out of the house, that taking them off would be counter-productive.

I never wear shoes indoors. People that do tend to scare me. What exactly are they hiding?? O.O (besides rampant foot odor and toe jam, I mean)AllicrombieYeah I really don't understand it. Why would you want to wear shoes any more than you have to? If you're in your house, be comfortable.

Wearing shoes is much more comfortable to me than not wearing them. I always wear them inside if they aren't dirty. In fact I am wearing shoes right now.

Seems odd to me that wearing shoes is more comfortable to you than bare feet (on a clean home floor surface) but whatever.[QUOTE="hoola"]

Why add needless clothes when you dont have to?[QUOTE="Necrifer"]Counter-productive? Good idea, washing hands are only just slowing us down.
Apparently we/they do, though I still prefer taking my shoes off since I feel Im messing up their rug that way.

no, our streets our clean in America. And paved with gold. We really dont have to worry about tracking crap in. Just gold flakes, but those give carpet a nice sparkle.
If you're concerned about spreading germs and disease, you should wash your hands every time you come home. Your hands are far more a source of disease than your shoes.
