Why do men have nipples?

Seriously why?

Women have their reasons but I see none for men.

For the men that want to be women.

My old human phys teacher said its easier to just have them and have no purpose then for the body to completely remove them or something like that, can't really remember it was awhile ago.

Because in terms of physiology men and women are nearly the same. In the fetal stages development progresses as so until the dominant features begin to manifest themselves. It's a known fact that all the sex can't be determined until a certain stage in the pregnancy. At a certain point the fetus develops the proper reproductive glands for the respective gender. So if the baby is a girl, the breasts will develop as so so when she becomes a woman, she can nurse her children. That's just life. Everyone just has nipples, only women actually have a purpose for them while men have developed in a seperate manner and thus the nipples have become useless.

Because during fetal development those cells are unaware of the gender. Its kind of like how both men and women have facial hair under their skin but it doesnt grow out unless it comes into contact with the right hormones. But hey thats just the scientific explanation, you can just as easily say "because god said so".

All fetuses generally look the same from conception, so when genetically male fetuses produce male hormones, the nipples are retained.

The reason is simple. Males are modified females. All organisms start their development in embryonic stages as a female. However, if there is a Y chromosome, there will be hormones that make changes. Certain organisms are modified from female to male (ie ovaries to testicles). However, nipples remain.PannicAtack
