Why are you so doggone against it? I am tired of trying to talk to you about it.Anamosa41because it ignores science and reason
The same reason that people believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, alien abductions, bizarre conspiracy theories and other such nonsense: people are idiots.morewasabi
Bigfoot, and aliens don't exist?
It was actually created yesterday, and we were created today with memories of its "past".SolidSnake35
wow. That's pretty good :D

Yeah I'm always thinking about that kind of stuff
I watched this documentary that stated that the method for determening the age of something is very inaccurate...like the fur of an animal may be 14 million years old, but its bones show that its only 3.5 million years old...
Same documentary also tried to disprove the Big Bang theory by asking where did the matter originate from?
I haven't researched any further on the subject...but for the 2nd question I stated...you could always counter w/ where did God come from?

Ahhh, I love the first argument. "Well this test says it's a milion years old" "well this one says it's only 500 thousand years old" They're wrong both ways.

Me too. If you say it to a lot of people, they'll tell you that you're an idiot, but I think it's interesting.*sigh*
As a former yec, let me just show you this and leave.

What? People seriously still believe that it is only 6000 years old? OMFG. My faith in humanity just lowered (and I did not think that was possible)SunofVich
You made my faithy in humanity lower as well by not knowing that Christians believe that the world is only 6,000 years old..
Please tell me your not older that 15 and haven't been thorugh HS literature yet.
If your older than 15 and don't know what the major religions of the world are generaly about then all I can say is wow.

I love how you generalize all Christians in your post. . .it gives a stinging sense of irony.

Don't generalize all Christians into this statement. Generalizations = Ignorance. Some Christians believe that everything said in the bible is factual and historically accurate, other Christians do not. Being a Christian does not mean you believe the earth is only 6000 years old, same as believing in a form of Creationism does not rule out a belief in Evolution.[QUOTE="-D3MO-"][QUOTE="SunofVich"]What? I apologize for generalizing but doesn't the Bible state that the world is ~6000 years old?
And if your a Christian you believe the Bible no?

No, the Bible does not state that the Earth is 6000 years old.
Of course I believe the Bible.

So how old do you think the Earth is?
~4 Billion years.

That is funny. (No offence)None taken.
But I must ask: Why do you think it's funny?

I think the earth would be a terribly run down place or not even here if it were that old. Stop and think about how long 4 billion years really is.[QUOTE="Anamosa41"][QUOTE="Silver_Dragon17"][QUOTE="aliend"][QUOTE="Silver_Dragon17"]No, the Bible does not state that the Earth is 6000 years old.

Well, I find it pretty strange aswell. The Bible (starting from Genesis 5) gives us a pretty good timeline don't you think? Want to do a little math here and calculate all those generations?

We pollute the planet thus reducing how much longer it has to live

Do you have any clue how long it takes for a planet to go from being a ball of hot gass to a place like earth is now? A friken long time....[QUOTE="Anamosa41"][QUOTE="Silver_Dragon17"][QUOTE="Anamosa41"][QUOTE="Silver_Dragon17"][QUOTE="aliend"][QUOTE="Silver_Dragon17"]No, the Bible does not state that the Earth is 6000 years old.

in the long run (hundreds of millions of years) humans will have absolutely no effect on this planet whatsoeverPlease Log In to post.
